The installation of this pack over a clean version of the IL-2 4.12.2m allows to use the simulator in 3 ways:
- ORIGINAL IL-2 : 4.12.2m (Vanilla)
- SAS MODACT : 4.12.2m + Modact 5.3 (IA Flyables and added JIR's 16 Spain maps )
- ULTRASPAIN: (adapted version of the Ultraspain into 4.12.2m including new planes and modifications to JIR's maps with several new buildings)

Place the content from "Ultraspain for v4.12.2" over a CLEAN install of the Il2 v4.12.2

Press Change Setting at the IL-2 selector, Game Type: Stock Game

A bit off-topic, I know, but I have been using your Spanish maps for some time now, and the more I use them the more impressed I get. I built some missions based on the Battle of Brunete, and what did I find outside Brunete: yes, of course the church and the cemetery where the remnants of Líster's 11th Division fought on July 24-25 is there! The detail work and the attention to history in your maps is GREAT!  ;D

Is duplicating the loadouts of the Cant Z.506B and preventing its cockpit from showing up. Can you please confirm ad update the class?

Off with the JSGME.exe  the  mod UltraSpain
In #SAS\#UltraSpain_Files remove the BF1DF4AC1601D87E file
Add in jsgmemods\UltraSpain\#SAS  the  new folder  #UltraSpain_Files
Put the  BF1DF4AC1601D87E file in the new folder  #UltraSpain_Files

This way the file BF1DF4AC1601D87E only works when is activated  the mod UltraSpain.

This is a magnificent Mod. I was always fascinated by the period so I installed it above a fresh 4.12.2 version and… joy! I am busy trying out all the planes (have done all Republicans so far and will try out the Nationalists tomorrow ) and I discovered some small imperfections or bugs which I cannot solve on my own.
The Koolhoven FX Wright Whirlwind does not have engine sound. (The other Koolhoven is OK!) When starting up the engine, nothing more than a click is heard. This problem occurs with both the Hispano planes too. (E-30 and E-30T)
The spinner of the Dewoitine 372 disappears once the engine is at full revs after starting up. Remarkably it appears again when firing the default guns. Firing the Oerlikon cannons makes it appear and disappear at the rate of the interruption of the cannon fire.
The gun sight vision of the Fokker C.X (Hispano) is obstructed by something external. Part of the fuselage? A 3D problem? It makes it impossible to aim straight.
All the other Republican planes are splendid! Some of them have guns which are not lined up with the gun sight correctly, or vice versa, but I can live with it. The maps are stunning and the whole concept of the complete add-on is more than just a new breath of fresh air. I love it! Well done!
So, can something be done about the above mentioned, undoubtably minor issues?

Tested the Nationalist planes. All of them are ok except the FIAT BR-20's. It is impossible to get them airborne. They “stick” to the ground. All others work fine.

Jenato, your bug reports are most interesting, but I don't think they are Ultraspain's bug but the plane mod itselves.

1) The original mod of the Br20 has no take off problem. After ignition of both engines, let the throttle rise progressively to 55% then wait till you see dust clouds rising. These engines need to warm up. Then progressively rise the throttle till you reach 70% let the plane begin to runand get speed  - control torque with the rudder (not very strong torque) - then rise throttle to 90% progressively - the plane will go faster and at some point will raise its tail and run parallel to ground  - put full throttle and at 120km/h begin pulling slowly your stick - this plane takes off almost by itself!
2) the Koolhoven Wright Whirlwind engine uses the sound SW-J5B, same as the Avia-Wright engine of the PWS-26 and the R-XIII aircraft. These needed preset and samples files are included in the RXIII mod.
3) Fokker CX gunsight - first open the tubesight (Ctrl D or as you have defined it) - when opened you can see through it and there is a bulge at the center top corresponding to the bulge of the center wing - Now, when you enter the gunsight in order to aim at your target, this bulge is no longer visible, what can be seen of the plane structure is only the upper edge of the long Hispano engine at the bottom of the sight.
4) D372 spinner - the problem is that the spinner mesh is not "closed" at rear, and therefore at certain angles of outside view (between 200 degrees and 270 degrees lateral) you may look at the back of the mesh polygons (the insides of the "spinner" which are normally hidden by the cowling and engine) - and the mesh then appears as transparent - it's unrelated to throttle and guns.

Nice mod!

But I cannot run it well. When I select axis planes (Nationalists) in the QMB, I get a CTD at 30% loading mission (Any map).
I installed it over clean installation il-2 patched to 4.12 and no other mod installed. So...I don't know what is wrong.

Do I need to post the logfile? Because there are a lot of info inside (too long).

First, try deleting the last.quick file from the Quicks folder. That can often solve QMB problems.

Hello everybody!

I have the same problem. But in my case, not with CUP. I have CUP and it works fine but...

I have another il-2 installation 4.12 for Ultraspain for 4.12. I followed the steps and I didnt install any other mod.
Everytime I select axis planes in the QMB I get this error and then a CTD at 30% loading mission (any map).

Do I need to post the logfile?

Ok, here is my logfile. It is the first time that I post a logfile, so I hope to do it right  ;)

PD: I realized that this problem only happens when I run Modact 5.3, for example,  in both of my 2 installations. The one with Ultraspain, and the one with CUP (but that one the problem only appears when I select Modact, the 3 modules, DOF, WAW and JTW run perfect).

PROBLEM SOLVED!!   :) :)

I found it, this is what happened:

I installed the Ju-87A from WAW to Ultraspain, but it didn't work (altough both are 4.12), so I deleted it from the air.ini. But...I FORGOT to delete the folder. I deleted the folder and everything works fine now.

but when it disabled the countries (usa,japan etc) doesn't return to the QMB menu
plus single missions that I've created in the FMB doesn't work anymore....

As much as I like the effort, as much I have to say that many models don't look all that great, they rather look like a quick&dirty franken job.

Sorry to bother but I discover a little issue in the map:

Levante_Spain_Jir

....the Palma de Mallorca main airfields (the one with two runways in the south of the island) have bumps at both ends of the landing points....take off is without any issues....

My suggestion for a quick fix is to give them a little more lenght by flattern the terrain at both ends....this will keep compatibility with all the mission build over them....

Those are the last waypoint in one of my missions if you like to test....

I have tried a number of times to edit the maps that appear in UltraSpain.

Many are older maps that I never use anyway and just clutter up the listing. However I would like to add other maps suitable for the SCW.

But it seems that the usual method of editing the all.ini file does nothing. No matter which maps I delete or add or both, the list of maps in the game stays exactly the same.

How can the all.ini and therefore the listing of maps be altered so that it will work in the game?

Hi Agracier, what version of the game do you use ?

in my BAT 4.8.2 Flashpoint install, for the WWII module (#WAW3), the all.ini file is in the #WAW3\MAPMODS\Maps  folder, I have added several maps without any issue.
For SCW maps , I suggest to add them in the #TGA3 module, the all.ini to update is in the #TGA3\MAPMODS\Maps folder .

I know that. Been editing, altering and making dozens of maps on my own. I've never had a problem with editing the all.ini (or other .ini files and such) in other game versions.

But for some reason in UltraSpain I simply cannot get any changes I make to the maps/all.ini to stick and appear in the game.

I've edited the all.ini and left just one single entry and still in the game I get the original listing of maps. If I add a map of my choosing it does not appear in the game.

Perhaps there is a lock on something or another file is affecting the maps, but I don't know which one. That is why I asked.

Doing a search I found 4 all,ini files. I disabled 3 that were not in the maps folder and I still get the same result.

I shall fiddle around with the others and see what happens. But I suspect others may be in sfs files which are inaccessible ...

OK tnx. There must be an override somewhere. I've made dozens and dozens of maps previously so I doubt if it is a question of formatting or placing. I'll fiddle around a bit.

I'd mainly like to get new maps into UltraSpain because I am mainly interested in the new planes in US. Some very nice and unusual models.

Related to this, i don't suppose it is possible to lift any of the new planes out of US into other game versions?

I'm doing some homeworks in these weeks....I'm studying how to edit maps....

I have done a fix for the Levante maps about the Mallorca airfield of Son San Juan....

1) No more bumps of aircraft while landing
2) No more aircraft falling downhill in southwestern parkings
3) Retouched the runways paths to avoid change of runway after landing

Many objects from the Mod_Jir package are made of very high quality. But only objects for the Mod_Jir package from ten years ago are freely available.

Another great blow of fate in the IL2 community.

who inherits the mods once the modder, who has generously shared them for free with the community, leaves this world? Don't they belong to all of us?
After all, what has been posted on the internet is up for grabs.
We are no copyright agency.
As long as a mod is actively being maintained, it's a matter of reason to get in touch with modders first before you create another branch of their work.
But for abandoned mods or the legacy of former modders, I see no reason not to carry on.
