Ki-30 "Ann" 3D Redux based on SAS~Skippers Franken Ki-30 Ki-51. Thanks to SAS~Skipper, vampire_pilot and SAS~Epervier for this.

I decided to do this one after receiving a personal request from SAS~Poltava. Hope you like it Peter. ;)

No changes were made to the Ki-51, slot or skin folder to which I've included two 2048x2 skins and a 1024x2 void to get you started. Default skin has no markings.

Tested in 4.12.2m with Modact 5.30 and B.A.T.

So from what I can see we have this working in 4.10 DBW and 4.13.2 with Modact 6.2 which is great news. ;D Hopefully it'll work in 4.09 for our rebel friends as well. ;)

But... There are two tinkers to check!  ;)

On the Ki-51: it fills no purpose in this double pack, as we already have an excellent Ki-51, by ten010. This one: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,40537.0.html

Simply disregard the air.ini-entry.

Later on I hope that one of our Java gurus could simple operate the "Ki-51" from this pack and chuck it in the bin. All we want and need here is of course the wonderful Ki-30!!!!

Thanks again guys and that's exactly why I didn't touch the Ki-51 in this pack. Like SAS~Poltava stated with ten010's excellent version there was no need too. ;D

 Glad to hear it's working in 4.09 for you SAS~Epervier and thanks for taking the time to fill us in as to which of the Ki-51 files we can remove. I've added it to the first post for those that wish to do so.

Thanks 4 the plane. Possible? from gunner's view the gun barrel is not attached to the mg and strange textures on the right side of the rear fuselage.

Can someone check and look at the rear gunner from the front pit ?  o_O

412.2 sas 5.3 with HD mod active.  Just me ? Crewman is green and he causes no error in my log.

With or without 3D fixes, same result. With Sonia-alone pit, same result.

Hello friends, I installed the MOD Ki 30 Ann according to the instructions, removing the data related to the Ki 51 because I wanted to keep the original created by Ten010. To my surprise I'm having 20% CTD in my BAT installation, despite the information provided that MOD was tested in version 4.12 with BAT. I ask the help of friends to solve this problem. Thanks for this great Mod Ki-30!  I already had the nice Ki-51 that is mentioned so I just followed the instructions in the first post on how to add and delete the Ki-51 files and had no problems installing and flying in the VP Modpack.

Thank you again for this new 3D - it was very well done.

I'd like to report the same observation that vch3278 and Hubberranz mentioned that there is no smoke or fire from the plane when shot at - though I did see some debris coming out and the pilot would bail out at some point, so no sure whether it is damage model issue or effect issue.

Anyway thank you very much again for this and other new planes/ 3D upgrades.

It's a cool little plane but I found it has no damage model. I stuck them into the White Sun Blue Sky campaign and when I faced them in combat they didn't smoke, catch fire, have pieces fly off, or any other indicator of damage.

Well, now try these ( I did not test them ):

What I did is I decoded them (viewIMF); I had a look at them in IrfanViewer, made no change,
then just saved them. The result shows a difference in their size: the originals being 4099 kb ;
the new ones are 4097 kb. The Alpha channels were preserved. It looks promising.
I hope this works.

when I shoot her she is full of glitches..... B5N Textures coming out and etc etc
anyway great 3D model but no damage at all (If I Use Collision fix which is in this topic she's full of the glitches) ::(

 Plans: 1. First, a large number of artifacts, presumably from other models. Why they are here, I do not know, I think without these parts the model will not appear in IL. Nevertheless, I will delete all unnecessary, leaving only the zero LOD.
2. The second. Some parts of the model suffer from excessive accuracy. For example, a wheel or machine gun shooter.

Here she is in my Customized Default skin based on Sakai's one ;)

Manchukuo is the best option for her in my opinion

P.P.S if you're installed Ki-32 (new 3D version) you should!! install green gunner fix into Ki-32 as well same way as you did that with Ki-30
since they share the same cockpit and if one of them has no fix the Gunner will be GREEN as cucumber anyway  :D :D :D :D :D

Find below a 4.12 fix for the telescopic sight of the Ki-30. It is BAT-ready but the classes can be used in any other 4.12 version.

Hi whistler,

not relevant to this aircraft, I know, but you are the expert on correcting gunsights (great work so far by the way). Is there any possibility that you could take a look at the British TGA Hawker Hind/Hart/Osprey family for us all? The gunsights are all off (the Fury is fine). Same problem with the Bulldog.

I wish I was an expert on anything! Hind/Hart/Osprey... all fixed in my WIP files. The Bulldog... last attempt failed :-X

That's great news , whistler, as the Hind family are great aircraft. I have found several Japanese aircraft (usually based on the Hind cockpit), with the same problem. I'll check them out and post where you suggest. Thanks again.

well, NO INTERIORS of Ki-30 in this world as far as I know ....... so Use yor Fantasy!! true...... sad but true
If I were you I'd love to use Cockpit from D3A or SBD for pilot and a B5N for the gunner
Ki-30 has bombsight but again NO COCKPIT PHOTOGRAPHS.....

oh and I'd like to say you have pretty good start (3D model) so make it right with proper collision boxes,radiator skirt flaps and a bomb bay doors (those were like on Ki-32) so we'll be happy with that :)

The damage meshes need to be attached in a certain sequence and each should have a corresponding damage cap. ;)

The damage cap should appear once a aircraft part has suffered catastrophic damage and been blown off/fallen off the component it was attached to.

Take a existing model that you know works and look how many damage meshes it has and check the hier as well, compare that to your model to make sure you have all your own parts named correctly and attached to those they are supposed to be.

Trial and error will get you there eventually tvister, double check everything or ask someone you are in close contact with to go through your model, they might see something you have missed.
