Post by: CharlieChap on June 21, 2012, 07:51:03 AM

Installation Instructions for HSFX Version 6.0 released June, 2012

Whats in HSFX 6.0 ?

See this PDF file for the content in HSFX version 6.0 - http://242sqn.com/Temporary/HSFX_6_Readme.pdf

Installer

The HSFX 6.0 install package is an all-in-one installer, that includes all the content from previous HSFX releases with version 6.0. NO other patches are required.

Recommended Installation

We recommend that you should make a copy of an existing IL-2 folder and it's sub-directories to install Version 6.0 into, in case you have any problems. If you do have problems, you need a good version to copy from, to start again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Filenames and Size

The installer for HSFX History Mod Version 6.0 consists of the following files ;

You need to download each file and place them all in one folder together.

- HSFX_Version_6_0.EXE - 650 Mb.
- HSFX_Version_6_0.W02 - 650 Mb.
- HSFX_Version_6_0.W03 - 650 Mb.
- HSFX_Version_6_0.W04 - 41 Mb.
- Part2_Ver_6.EXE ..........- 650 Mb.
- Part2_Ver_6.W02..........- 650 Mb.
- Part2_Ver_6.W03..........- 604 Mb.
- Part3_Ver_6.EXE..........- 650 Mb.
- Part3_Ver_6.W02..........- 85 Mb.
............................. total - 4,630 Mb. (4.6 Gb.)

This is a three part install, due to the size limitations of the installer software used. The part2_Ver_6.EXE file is the second part, and
Part3_Ver_6.EXE the third, both are executed automatically by the HSFX_Version_6_0.EXE. To start the installation run HSFX_Version_6_0.EXE

This is a very large release, because it contains all Mod content from the very beginning of HSFX History Mod.

Steps required to install HSFX History Mod Version 6.0

You must follow the sequence below.

Step 1 : Use the jsgme switcher, and disable all installed mods, including the HSFX Mod.

Step 2 : Ensure that version of IL-2 that you are updating with HSFX 6.0, has already been updated to IL-2 Version 4.11.1, the Team Daidalos
patch. If you have just installed the 4.11.1 patch run it at least once to be sure it is working.

4.11.1 Available here - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=29039

Step 3 : Install HSFX version 6.0 Run HSFX_Version_6_0.EXE and answer the questions displayed by the installer, Ensure that when the installer asks for which folder to install Version 6.0 into, that you point it at the folder for the Il2 Sturmovik 46 directory you want to update.

IMPORTANT : For users with previous versions of The History Mod and any other Mod packages installed, the Version 6.0 Installer will delete the previous versions Files and all files, and rename the Mods folders (jsgmemods), as they must be updated to work with the IL-2 Team Daedalus 4.11.1 patch to function. If you want to keep these folders, you should rename them, or move them before running the Installer.

Step 4 : Use the jsgme switcher, and enable the HSFX History mod.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a detailed Read Me.doc with all the features included in Version 6.0 installed into your IL-2 Sturmovik root folder.

Any questions, problems should be posted in the  242Sqn IL-2 Mod Forum.

I have installed the new HSFX last night, and my first impression is: top work!
The Modact 3.06 with HSFX 6 works also fine!!!

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,16382.0.html

I put the most of my DBW mods into the HSFX install (like maps some visual effects,etc..)
and all works fine together, with the exception of those with java classes inside.

Excuse me Semor, Modact 3.06 but with 4.101 buttons or 4.11? Thanks in advanced.
Title: Re: HSFX v6.0 Released
Post by: Semor on June 22, 2012, 03:51:49 AM
ups, yes of course, without the SAS buttons. You have to remove the stock exe and the HSFX exe in the JSGME folder. Then, copy the two exe file that comes with the modact in your installation, enable HSFX in JSGME and run the EXE selector choose the "classic mod game" and that`s it.  ;)

I did it ok with the torrent and alls working but i had a glitch due to sas mod act, so i dashed out the modact exe and use the jsgme.

Im stumped though with the command control mod, i had earlier missions made in hsfx5 with it and the objects are there but not working such as the ai gci bearings etc. Does the advanced mode have to be on for it to work and in the read me i saw some [MODS] bit but could use a crayon picture of those entries that are working for someone else. I tried just the gci line with a distance but it wont show on screen.

If one is to add other planes back in how is that done now? I did not see a Mods folder? Im needing to add in my gigant and  me 321 and a few others to regain full reverse compatability.

Install went extremely well for me no glitches over a updated to 411.1 install.

Great release and very smooth and easy install ;-) Great sound pack as well and some very nice engine and flyby sounds.

I like it very much so far and only have found one minor issue. Is there a catapult boost of any kind? AI has problems to take off from carriers when they have some bombs and rockets. I tested with a Hellcat and number 1 and 2 crash very quickly into the sea.

I hope that someone can make the 6DOF NormalMouse mod compatible to the new HSFX.
The so called 6DOF "feature" that comes with the stock 4.11 is more than terrible!

Keep fingers crossed for this..  ;)

Hmm ive got 2 read me in pdf, same size diff date, gotta peruse again, Got my me 323 /321 and f6f5n installed working fine, everything else i tried such as ju88g6 and he219 wont load past 60%, maybe a diff fm problem?? as is from the patch all seems well and just a matter of retweaking lots of missions that had mosquito6cc is now mosquito6 and tse tse is now mosquito18 etc. Command and control mod is also acting up, in fmb wont give on screen display for bearings but works in single mission folder. Quite happy with the new pack though had most of what i had installed extra included in it. map/radar mod causes reference memory error though. as with all upgrades some remaking of missions is needed,

Question. And whether it is provided, in general in this assembly possibility further to add new planes? Which appeared any more a little =). I tried to put new to Spain of the 30th years and game crash for 60 %. That Bittonz or Diffm or that means and another don't support them. To me it is thought so.

Down load HSFX 6.0 and install over a clean [no mods] 4.11.1.

It is a self installer click the first part and point it to your game.
Drive letter\Ubisoft\ IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 <<--- install in this part.
Test your game by making the history  mod active in the JSGME -[moved to the right hand side]

I've done all of that. I should have been more forth coming in the last post. I read the readme file and have been looking for changes in aircraft such as opening cockpits for the 109 and new aircraft add-ons like the P-51A and F-86. No luck......

I know my install has the 109's that work. I riped it off in flight just so the wind could blow thru
my golden locks.  lol

With the HISTORY mod active do you have the HSFX splash screen--- not the 4.11.1?

Hi, Semor. Did you install it over 411.1? I did that. Got it working. Made a Mods folder. Added a plane, and it didn't show up. So, it got deleted. I might try your plan.

Hi David.
Glad you get the stuff to work!
For the planes,to be honest,I didn`t ad one single in my HSFX installation atm. I`m totaly busy with testing the new AI & engine managment in campaings, and the new Ai is more than challenging...belive me!
But so far many of the good DBW mods are working in HSFX.

As you can see, mostly Eyecandy stuff...like cockpit and map repaints,3D fixes, effects and sound mods. The unmodded DCG works also fine with HSFX.

cheers. ;)

Hi There 242 Squadron,

Thanks for the awesome update version 6  :D ;) :)

On a vanilla 4.11.1 it was quite an easy install.  ;) :)

i used the mega pack 4.08 to 4.10.1 for the vanilla version adding on 4.11 to 4.11.1

I was mostly surprised to see my Northen Borneo 42 map in it

I hope you have had a look at Northern Borneo 43-45 version.

All in all superb work on the new update 6 version.   :D ;)

Hello, people. I got a problem with HSFX files - I've downloaded them both from torrent and file downloads nevertheless after I start HSFX_Version_6_0.EXE it says it can't find part II although all the files are there in a folder. What's more when I check it by Nod 32 it says the archive is corrupted. What might be wrong?

When you make your install MAKE sure that is what is in the browse window for location.

Hey guys, i'm having an odd problem...

2nd time ive installed HSFX 6, first time on the new hard drive.

4.11.1 works fine, although it shows its still 4.11
I try HSFX 6, no Expert, and it loads as stock 4.11 till 95% then crash
HSFX 6 with expert, and it says 4.11.1 (with expert mod on) but has the stock background and still crashes...

Thoughts?

Sound is a matter of taste. I can certainly hear the G2's guns. There is a Default sound option available also.

Many people also use this by Tiger (who incidently, does work with us !):-

Probably a dumb question but here goes anyway...

I am in the process of setting up a HSFX version and started by getting to a clean 4.11 using the excellent Superpack (Thanks to all). I then went to the HSFX thread to get the HSFX download and found that I need 4.11.1. The HSFX install instructions say:

"4.11.1 Available here - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=29039"

Which is the link to the 4.11 upgrade by Team Diadalos. There is a HotFix link on that page too, but that link is no longer working.

So is that HotFix 4.11.1 or is it something else? Or is 4.11 actually 4.11.1? Or is 4.11.1 somewhere else; if so where? I can't find it.

Any clues?

Cheers

Dagwood

HSFX v6.0.17 problem report and request...

HSFX6's wrapper .exe is an old one,
and its objects limit is too low.
When I add about 30 aircrafts and ships to HSFX6 , 70%CTD occurs with no log.

SAS Modact3-4's wrapper .exe is newer and objects limit is higher.
(I don't know how many aircrafts I can add to reach its limit)

So, I request, please use newest wrapper .exe in HSFX6.

Here it is. IMHO 4.11 by TD is an "anti-mod mod" designed to make it difficult or impossible to mod the game other than HSFX. HSFX has SEVERE limitations as detailed here and elsewhere. IMHO, it is designed FOR THAT PURPOSE. Therefore, IMHO; SAS should not support HSFX after 4.11.

HSFX seems to have set itself up as an anti-UP mod and has elicited the support of TD (who as I understand it were paid to develop 4.11) in this regard. All of this political crap is transparent and objectionable to me and I ask all parties to reconsider their position as they are messing up the game for the vast majority of non partisan users who are disadvantaged by this stupid, childish bullshit. My own squadron (JG52) has been effectively destroyed by this rubbish; which helps no-one.

I am happy to be corrected or disciplined if I am wrong in any respect; but I would like to be informed as to where I am wrong and as to what "secret agendas" are running; because I am a bona fide user of many years who has had a gutful; and has tried hard to keep my squad together (without success) in the face of the unexplained confusion I have outlined above.

Cheers

What's the point to disseminate more threads with the same opinion about one mod?

HSFX has its way...DBW is coming into 411.1 and already has released its la ModAct for 411.1.

UP3 development is in stand-by by itself....there's a well explanatory thread on their forum.

New 412 patch is coming...so we can begin to moaning/whining against everything.

We first started to make this for Scorched Earth  in the very early days of AAA, there was nothing else around to do that at the time.  That was even pre-the AAA installer or whatever it was called, we did this simply because to play scorched earth a number of people all had to have identical installations so we made a combined installation with a simple installer.
To my knowledge UP didn't exist at that point, certainly  TD didn't. There is no conspiracy, we simply get along ok with some people in TD by this point (as we do with some people on SAS) which is not surprising really as we share the same hobby and love historic aircraft and aviation and have the same goal, to try to make il2 better.

We continue to make HSFX because some of us enjoy doing it and at the time that we started doing it nothing else was around that did what we want..(and for seow specifically there still isn't, because many of hsfx features are specifically tailored to work with that.)

TD 4.11 conspiracy ?. If they wanted to do that they could have changed a lot of things to make it impossible to mod il2 but at this point TD are deliberately leaving the game open, as they will be with 4.12.  many of the people are the same people and also play multiple game versions like everybody else.

Thank you, Charlie for the best explanation of what I was trying to understand. Thank you again and all your mates who made it possible. This is the best answer I have received so far and it helps me understand what I need to think about when modding. This is really what my question was about; for earlier posters and admins.

Aren't you "tired" of repeating the same lie again and again? As if you would have earned some kind of trophy if you were "first".
Just to put things straight, for the truth's sake, nothing more. From your Squad's forum:

Fun stories ...
In fact DT canceled idea about "encrypted" IL2 before long time back, so new encrypt SFS files is not present in 4.10/4.11 and in 4.12 ...
HSFX team don´t have any merits from DT but hold step with latest official updates, that all.

Good news, but replace encrypted SFS by a dll as the same effect. What is inside DT.dll is not at all justified by any improvements about performances (and sometime it is worst due to parameters and environment transfer between JVM and native functions...) ;)

IMHO, I haven't found any rational for that, except the fact that increase difficulties for a majority of modders.

Can´t right judge because isn´t there opposite java code for same functions which solve DT.dll file. Anyway it was choice DT programmers use other language than java code for call some functions. I agree that for development public mods is this problem but DT can´t offer source code to public due agreement with 1C. (Same with java, code, other code elements, 3dsmax sources of models, textures, tools etc ...)
Good news, but replace encrypted SFS by a dll as the same effect.
That not same. "Locked" SFS have effect lock complete archives with java code, models, maps, effects, flight model, etc ...

Hello,
I think that it is very nice to play with words.

So, if I understand, DT can’t distribute source code according to a contract. In same time, when coded in java, this code is offered. I suppose that DT knows that some free tools are able to extract this code from java class. In this case seems that contract is bypassed.

To conclude on this point, except, perhaps, some track IR functions where windows registers are involved, there is no need to include all other functions inside a dll. Moreover, doing that, some penalties, in term of performances are set.

I can confirm, “my tool” (to be clear is not exactly “my tool”) can lock dedicated SFS or some files inside an SFS (java class or not). Up to now, I haven’t see any interest to do that.  ;)

Following magot's arguments, (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-think004.gif)

"Perhaps" there will be files that cannot get encrypted with this algorithm and they will need a new one, like the "functions" that they cannot get coded in Java and need C ...

Its easy to play with words magot, but saying something useful or smart enough is much more than playing with words. We all know well why they moved game's code from Java to .dlls risking memory leaks and performance, and this was not because the Java is not sufficient for coding AI routiners, or any othe game code EXCEPT the graphics engine.

If i were you i would not risk more replies without humiliating myself. I don't have an issue of why microwave, fc or Lesni or anyone else used .dlls instead of Java.
But i do have issues when people like you think of everyone else that is dumb or something.

It´s not offered, use still same encrypt from 1C. But every little child know that are accessible hack/mod tools for open it.

OK, agree that it is not the right place to discuss these points and it is my last post on this subject. If necessary, we can continue by MP or in other topic.
To fully understand my position, 2 things I don´t like:

1) says one thing and the contrary (ie: don't crypt and install dll),
2) and that:

"We are not modders! We are developers. We are official, we have the tools. We have to care for sensible matters. We have big responsibilities. No matter, if you like it or not.

And what we are not at all: a toy for you!
Luckily you alone (or you handfull) are not representing the community."

That's all for me.

Quick question:

After HSFX 6.0 is installed, are the Torrent files from which it came from still required for it work or can they be deleted?
Title: Re: HSFX v6.0 Released
Post by: asheshouse on September 20, 2013, 01:11:19 AM
The torrent file is just required to enable you to download the installation files.
Once you have installed the game and have it working ok you can delete the torrent file.

The installation files are not needed once you have installed the game.
After installing all of the game files are in the game folder. Nothing hidden anywhere else.
--- but I do keep them, just in case I would want to reinstall, but its as easy just to keep a backup copy of the clean game folder.

Hi all,
I had to reinstall HSFX 6.01 and I cannot use the Auto updater to reach 6.017 because it will bring the game to HSFX 7 which I already have in my PC ( I have two installs).
Because I do not use Torrent, can anyone tells me where can I download the patches from 6.01 to 6.017 without using torrent ?. (Using Media Fire etc. ).
I would greatly appreciate it.

In few words you cannot use the auto updater in HSFX 6.
I'm looking for a way to update my game from 6.01 to 6.017 without using the auto updater and without using Torrent ( To many problems with antivirus ). Would like to find a download site like mediafire etc.

It's a simple executable, run it and when being asked where to install it, point it to the folder where your HSFX 6 is installed.
