Title: SALE!
Post by: SAS~Storebror on April 03, 2018, 12:50:45 AM
Hi folks,

Let's collect the IL-2 Great Battle sales here.
This week starts with a sale on "Battle of Stalingrad", "Battle of Moscow" and a set of collector planes.
Prices:

Battle of Stalingrad Standard: $49.99 $16.99 (-66%)
Battle of Stalingrad Premium ( = Standard + La-5 (series 8 ) + Fw 190 A-3): $79.99 $27.19 (-66%)
Battle of Moscow Standard: $49.99 $24.99 (-50%)
Battle of Moscow Premium ( = Standard + P-40E-1 + MC.202 Series VIII): $79.99 $39.99 (-50%)
Ju 52/Зm: $24.99 $14.99 (-40%)
Yak-1b: $19.99 $11.99 (-40%)
P-40E-1: $19.99 $9.99 (-50%)
MC.202 Series VIII: $19.99 $9.99 (-50%)
Fw 190 A-3: $19.99 $9.99 (-50%)
La-5 (series 8 ): $19.99 $9.99 (-50%)

Steam has the same prices in USD, but you can buy in your own currency there too (except for the "Premium" Editions which are available in the original IL-2 Store only, on Steam you have to buy "Standard" and the according Collector Planes separately on top). Furthermore the Collector Planes take the same amount in EUR on Steam like they take in USD on the IL-2 Store, so all in all Steam is too expensive.
These are the Steam Sale prices in EUR for reference:

Battle of Stalingrad: €46.99 €15.97 (-66%)
Battle of Moscow: €46.99 €23.49 (-50%)
P-40E-1: €19.99 €9.99 (-50%)
MC.202 Series VIII: €19.99 €9.99 (-50%)
Fw 190 A-3: €19.99 €9.99 (-50%)
La-5 (series 8 ): €19.99 €9.99 (-50%)

Cheers!
Mike

Thanks Mike.
Quite some sale!! I got BoM premium.
Time to check out the "lame duck" P40, against the 110.

You will enjoy that fight ;)
The P-40 is a handful, but once you got the hang of it, it's pure fun to fly.
Not exactly against 109s though, but 110s are valid opponents ;)

Cheers!

WoW! It's Great News for me!!
Thanks Mike sharing for us.

My 1st Great Battles' variants bought ..... BoS Premium and BoM Premium, now.

Downloaded and Installed ...... Ah ...... too low fps at Medium 1920x1080 setting ..... my PC is out-of-date for BoS even enough for 1946.  :-X

What's your PC specs western?

AMD A8-3850 ; 4cores @ 2.90GHz ; RADEON HD 6550D internal
Memory 11GB + 1GB shared VRAM for RADEON HD 6550D
Windows7 x64

I have a spare GeForce GTX 650 card, but I like low sound noise and energy saving of the current PC than powerful gaming.
I'll build a brand-new PC till Battle of Midway coming.
I stay on 1946 and its modding for the time being ....  :)

Oh wow yeah, that PC is a tad too weak for IL-2 Great Battles.

The minimum system requirements, straight from official source, are:

OS: 64-bit Windows® 7 (SP1) / Windows® 8 / Windows® 10
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5/i7 2.8 GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 660/Radeon HD 7770 with 2GB VRAM or better
DirectX: Version 11
RAM: 4 Gb+
Sound Card: DirectX®-compatible
Storage space: 10 Gb+
Internet connection: 256Kb/s for single-player campaign, 1Mb/s and faster for multi-player
DirectX® compatible flight stick is recommended

The CPU requirements translate to roughly 1500 Single Thread Passmark points. Take this list as reference: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html
Your A8-3850 APU scores 995 points, that's 50 percent below threshold.

2GB VRAM on the GPU is really mandatory. Anything below that is just "proof of concept" - I know what I'm talking about, I'm using a PC with Nvidia GT-740 for development myself, and while it can basically run IL-2 GB, it would never qualify for playing it.
The GPU performance can be compared here: https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
Nvidia GTX 660 is 4127 points, Radeon 7770 is 2212 points. Actually for smooth FullHD gameplay you will need the 4000 points minimum, I personally play on a Nvidia GTX 970 worth 8585 points and that's where on all maps, all missions I can have nearly maxed out settings with a stable 60FPS @1080p.
Your Radeon 6550D scores 649 points.
That misses both the VRAM and the performance requirements by dimensions.

The Nvidia GTX 650 scores 1832 points by the way and you will definitely not be happy with that for IL-2 Great Battles either.

Cheers!
Mike
