Title: MissionPro and QMBPro Final - Updated and Debugged versions
Post by: benitomuso on February 06, 2010, 08:35:54 AM
New debugged and expanded versions of Mission Pro and QMBPro

  Extending some of the features of my previous versions, these two mods will expand even more your IL-2s by adding the chance of selecting more things and customizing them more in depth.

  I wish to thank specially: Andy (Vampire Pilot) who helped me a lot to debug the MissionPro MOD, and who made a very exhaustive and precise testing of every function and Diego (Sir Galahad), who was the one that pointed out some of the issues of the QMBPro and helped me to confirm that I debugged all the operation anomalities.

  Now the Mission Pro works with Static and Dynamic campaigns as well as with Single Missions. Some oddities about colors, text, etc., were corrected.

  For those who didn't like my use of colors to indicate Flights, Armies, etc., now I have included a setting through the [Mods] section of Config.ini that allow to disable that with the line:

  PALMODsColor=0

  it will disable the Red / Blue army differentiation (please read ReadMe files for details) and use only black for indication text.

Download Mission Pro - Final, from here (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/MissionProLast/MissionProPAL.rar)

  Regarding the Quick Mission Pro 4.09m I have solved some issues that existed with the Reset function and when you set to 0 the number of planes of a flight. Now any mission respects exactly what you see in the screen regarding the number of planes of a flight, etc.

  Another feature is that for those users that had problems with the number of items of the comboboxes (that the list went out of the screen, etc.), now every single line is configurable to specify the number of items that will be used (again: please read the ReadMe of QMBPro to see the details on how to do that).

(https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/MissionProLast/QMBPro1.jpg)

  Download QMBPro4.09m - Final, from here (https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sas2/benitomuso/MissionProLast/QMBProPALFull.rar)

  Full readme with detailed instructions is included in both .rar files. Please, I recommend you to read them in detail to fully understand the ways of configuring them and using the available options.

  Regards,

                        Pablo

VP,
        it has only a couple of visual details changed, nothing operative. You can keep the one you are using or downloading this one if you want.

  Thank you again for your help!

  My answer is: I think so. I have only tested it under UP2.0 and listed as "None" it doesn't give me any trouble. If you still have issues please PM me and I'll try to fix it but I need feedback when I don't see the problems by myself.

Hi and Thanks again.

I have no Idea of what is going on with my Installation. :(

I want to use this Mod but I am still having the planebox going upwards and away, so I can only advance in one direction.

As I understood, this new version corrected this issue, but is not working in my installation: Any sugestion?
P.S. I was using another mod that fixed this in your previous version, but hardly can see the resultant letters

HeavyCrasher, I assume you are speaking about the QMBPro. In this new version, the problems with the comboboxes can be solved by setting the number of lines that are shown in each planes field. Please read in detail the redame file. You can set the lines for your own plane to something less than 30 i.e. with the line PALQMBLinesPl0=20 in the [Mods] section of the Config.ini file. Playing with these values you will be able to avoid the problem you have with the comboboxes poping up instead of down.

  I hope it helps,

@ Pablo

Thanks for the mods they are great. After testing the QMB Pro mod out, everything seems to be working perfectly. You did an excellent job on this one. There is not one thing that I would change about it. Everything works just as it should and I really like being able to customize the lines of text for the planes and the maps.  The way that you have some of the options (Embossed) until they are selected is a very nice touch too.

I do however have a problem with the Mission Pro mod. Everything in it seems to work just fine for me except the zoom in feature. For those of us who don’t have a mouse wheel, there is no way to zoom in on the map. I used to be able to right click on the map and zoom in on it but it does not work anymore. Zooming in with the mouse wheel is a good idea for those who have a mouse wheel, but my mouse is built into my keyboard and it has no mouse wheel so could the right click zoom feature be added back in along with the mouse wheel feature for those of us that don’t have a mouse wheel.

Here is another thought I had while I was testing this out. Having the option to change the color is a really good idea, but you are using the same config value for both mods. It might be a good idea to be able to turn the color off for one mod and leave it on for the other.  I like having the color in the QMBPro but in mission or campaign mode, reading a long mission brief can be a bit of a strain when it’s all in red.

My question to you is could separate lines be added in the config for the QMB Pro and the Mission Pro?

Example:
PALQMBProColor=1
PALMissionProColor=0

Thanks again for the great mods.

These are both brilliant mods.  I have only one tiny issue, which is more of a preference than a problem.  Changing your own flight in a campaign or mission is no problem, but if you have other flights under your command, you might also wish to change these for consistency.  Unfortunaly, in doing so you will see all the enemy flights as well.  Now I know it is a feature to be able to change enemy aircraft as well, but would it be possible to have an option to hide them?

Also, what does the player/mission skin toggle do?

Pablo, My Apologies

This is embarrassing to say the least: I missed completely the configurable Nr. of Lines in the readme.
I changed the player box as you suggested and it is working as it should

I will have to add "read completely and Throughfully the readme files" to my 2010
commitments.

Title: Re: MissionPro and QMBPro Final - Updated and Debugged versions

@rickster

I have found that the combo boxes only go in the other direction if you have more lines than can fit on your screen. I have a 28" wide screen. Here are my config values.  I know that I will be able to hold more info on my screen than you will, but try using the config parameters below but subtract 10 from each line. That might work for you. If your pop ups still go in the wrong direction, just subtract a few more off until it fits. Hope this helps.

PALQMBLinesMap=33
PALQMBLinesPl0=39
PALQMBLinesPl1=32
PALQMBLinesPl2=30
PALQMBLinesPl3=28
PALQMBLinesPl4=26
PALQMBLinesPl5=28
PALQMBLinesPl6=30
PALQMBLinesPl7=32

Thanks guys, for these 2 mods !!!

QMB ProPal is excellent, and I enjoy it very much !!!

I installed it on 3 of my installs (HSFX, UP and my own modded game).

But I have a problem since on my modded game only (HSFX and UP are not concerned by this) : I have reinstalled IL-2 Mat Manager yesterday, which means I had to add ClearCache=0 in the game section of my conf.ini. And now, every time I try to go to the QMB, nothing happens. I just have my mission background on the monitor and must stop the game with Ctrl-Alt-Del. If I disable the QMB ProPal, it works again with the basic QMB of the 4.09 version.

Does anyone else have such thing happening ??? ?

Great mod - thx a lot for this great improvement :)

One problem for me is the pull down menu in MissionPro for player skin, if one has skins with many characters, it´s to small - no great deal, but perhaps you can check it, if you´re planing to do an update in the future.

Thanks for this mod Beni,

I'm running HSFX 4.1, and have no "Mods" section in my conf.ini, so I've added one thus:

[Mods]
PALQMBLinesMap=28
PALQMBLinesPl0=50
PALQMBLinesPl1=18
PALQMBLinesPl2=18
PALQMBLinesPl3=18
PALQMBLinesPl4=18
PALQMBLinesPl5=18
PALQMBLinesPl6=18
PALQMBLinesPl7=18

As you can see, I've set a high figure for the player AC box. In fact, I've set figures ranging from 0 to 50, nothing works, the box remains exactly the same as when I first installed it, and I've reinstalled as well. Any Ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Guys!
Gerax I'm asking you 'cause I believe you made some of the missions coming with QMBPro, but if anyone may have some hints anyway I'd like to be enlightened! ;)
The matter is sometime I save some missions from FMB (standard), give them the proper name etc. but when I try to load these from QMBP I get the corrupt or absent mission message, even if selecting that map it enables the kind of missions I saved (Scramble, etc.); the point is some missions load without trouble, and other won't. I'm using URSS and G for Red and Blue 1st squadrons, and this is I believe the only thing to care about.
I'm confused! Should I use some different tools to build the missions other than FMB?

uhh... sorry if i ask those very stupid questions, but somehow, in QMB pro, i selected the mc200 as my plane.

then i selected g.50 as hostile, but as i flew, the g50 somehow was friendly ???

i deleted the hostile flight and made a friendly flight instead, i selected 1 g.50, now the planes (4 cr42) were hostile, and right behind me when the mission started  :P

did i do something wrong?

OK Gerax, I'll go through all that long thread and hopefully find out why some missions are not recognized while others are... I'm using FMB without much trouble, and I understood that QMBP missions should be set to the minimum requirements, so the player can alter them afterward: I believe this is just for the 1st squadron, since the remaining statics or moving and flying items may be set in any way you like, since these are not accessed by the QMBP setup routines, I believe...

I tried MissionPro today and generally liked it.
I have 2 small requests nonetheless :
In addition to the player / aircraft skin option, can we choose the "nonum option" ?
Also, the red color on the yellow background is very "flashy", can we change it ?

Thank you in advance

Hello Pablo,

thanks for your outstanding work. You are our QMB-expert!
So I have a question and hope you can help me.
I missed some skins (that I have renamed with historical info's) in the QMB Arming / Aircraft / Skin menu.
After a little research, I found that you can only see Skins with a name of maximum 110 characters (incl. .bmp).
Do you know, if there is a possibility to change this restriction?
How can I do it (if I won't shorten the names)?
How could I change the size of the skin-box?

Thanks in advance.

Jeanba,

            the NoNum option is something that you don't toggle frequently. And it is available in the aircraft customization window, reachable from the MissionPro. The Mission screen is crowded enough as to don't give chances of adding other switches. So I don't think that the addtion of the NoNum option has more Pros than Cons.

  Regarding the red over yellow contrast, it is very difficult to satisfy the visual of all possible configurations. You can allways disable the colors through the Config.ini setting (PALModsColor=0).

  Cheers,

                       Pablo

Hello All--
I just installed the full package UP 2.01 (with the new Hellcats and Mustangs) and everything is working real good.  However, when I reinstalled the QMBPro in the MODS folder and activated the folder, the QMBpro won't register the new Hellcats and Mustangs.  The stock QMB allows me to use them.  Will I have to install these aircraft (or any other planes included in new packages) as stand-alones in the MODS folder for the QMBPro to allow me to use them, or there something I need to do to have QMBPro pick up these new package additions? Thanks for any response!

@ Blitzkrieg: As BFT noted above, not all the maps in the QMB .ini are included with UP/HASFX. Benghali is one that will require manual installation. You may also need to create some QMB mission template files (.mis file) for any maps showing that 'no mission file' error, as not all the maps available have ready-made templates.

In the case of the Benghali map, the only mission templates included (as far as I know) are the red and blue 'None' mission type. The rest of the mission types (armor, attack, scramble. etc.) need to be created for the Benghali map as templates. Unless they're available for download somewhere.

When I install this mod into JSME it causes check run time 2 failure on spits vs 109s mod server. There is a file saying "dont delete if you wont to fly on WOP servers" is it meant to have any other program bar text? I have found I need to delete the entire mod from the IL2 program to avoid the check run time issue

Regardless of the above issue from what I have seen its an excellent mod, good to see something improving on the dgen program

I'm having an odd problem, and I'd swear I had it before and fixed it, but I'll be damned if I remember how. In UP 2.01 whether I use the older version through JSGME or the new one in the MODS folder I don't get the planes I choose in QMBpro, but the same ones all the time, depending on the map. I've had both vesions working before, and I don't know what has changed. Help?!

It's OK mate, I was only looking for old stuff...... which I found none. So I deleted everything whatsoever to do with QMB and reinstalled fresh. I got the same thing till I switched back and forth between AXIS and ALLIED, then it started working! I don't even begin to understand what happened, I'm just going to blame Bill Gates and get back to flying.

No matter what I try I can't get the plane box to drop down instead of going up!
I'm using the SAS mod activator, no UP or HSFX. I have read through this forum a few times and tried all the alternative fixes but to no avail
This is a great little add on, guess I'll just have to keep working around it (no big deal, I can still access the planes I want).

steveb, Add this to your config.ini and see if that works. Did for me. I'm using UP2.01 but also use it in my old install.

[Mods]
PALQMBLinesPl0=20

If you already have a [Mods] in your config.ini just add the PALQMBLinesPl0=20 at the end of whatever you have there.

actually it looks like the top bas is minimizing to the bottom saying "career mode" and my name when trying to enter career mode. everything else is black screen.

okay, here is what i have checked by now:

I have a clean 2.01 install, just reinstalled. tested with clean MODS folder, only 2.01 Mods
SingleMissionProPAL is causing this, QMB works trouble free.

tested version from JSGME ->black screen (which means also the 2.01 stock version is NOT working here!)
tested version from here in MODS -> blacks creen
tested older beta I had -> black screen

tested with and without QMB activated either from JSGME or in MODS -> black screen each time

checked for duplicate java files in the install -> none found related to SM PropPal

I have no clue what is going on. is ist some setting somewhere that conflicts?!?
I had it running on my last UP2.01 install! i even was the beta tester!!... what is this?

Hi Andy and All,
                        I'm not having time to dedicate to modding for the while, so this is why many times I'm unable to answer.

  In the settings.ini corresponding to the user you use: i.e. \IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Users\0 you will find this section (with different data):

[LastSingleMission]
LastCountry=4
LastDir=5
LastMission=0
MarkingsOn=0
CampaignItem=2
LastSkin=IL2_M3_late_45_east.bmp
LastNoseArt=IL2_M3_late_45_east.bmp
LastPlaneSkin=MiG-15(bis)late

  One suggestion is that you remove the whole section. I believe (and just believe because I don't have that problem with UP) that the problem could be related to a different directory structure for Single Mission or Careers. The way my MOD works is storing the order (number) of Country / Directory / Mission last used. If some of these parameters change, it could lead to unhandled data for the menu selector. If you delete the section, the MOD will create it purely from scratch and based only in your current directory structure.

  Please check that and let me know.

  Regards,

                        Pablo

I solved it, but not exactly like that but somewhat related! Users is in fact the key

I tried to create a compeltely new user from scratch (a john doe) with him it worked!
then I deleted my old user and reconfigured a newly created one for me, i copied the settings.ini though (to get back my buttons and special settings) so that could not have been the issue. I guess the campaigns.ini was causing this! maybe some old junk in there from before my backup,
which did not cause trouble with the standard mission interface but not with the modded one.

thank you for you help!

Dear benitomuso,
Thank you loads and loads and loads for MissionPro - I loved some campaigns but hated the plane choices, not an issue any more:) Once again -MEGA thanks and all the best!

PS Running in UP2.1 very nicely- just dont use JSGM and use MODS folder (like the readme says I know:))!

I have the activated JSGME running and came into trouble with the gui going off screen. Only added the conf.ini lines and dropped the folder to Mods, as I wanted to have my other stuff safe. Works, now my gui is looking trim and fit for Mods. This works like a charm, I don't wanna miss it, as I can use all qmb missions that work for me.
Thank you very much

I just installed this version of QMB, all works fine, except when I try to select an aircraft, the window opens up, instead of down, and I can not see either aircraft  :-\ this is normal?

A big bug I noticed is that when I use Mission pro pal in either HSFX or UP2.0, when I go in to fly Dgen generated missions, I lose the ability to zoom and unzoom both the briefing map before the mission and the debriefing map after the mission. That's a killer for me, especially after a mission when I like to zoom to see what might have happened to AI flight members and where all the planes went down and such. If you can't zoom in it's usually impossible to see what happened because all the crash or destruction icons are too close together on the map which is zoomed all the way out by default. Anyone else have this bug?

What are those of us to do that don’t have a mouse wheel? I use a track ball and it has no mouse wheel. So what would you recommend for us? How are we to zoom in and out? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I use a trackball too actually:) Kensington slimblade - its pretty good (outstanding ergonomics wise) now that Kensington finally updated their trackball soft...

Anyway, my slimblade does not have a specific scroll wheel, but has "twist to scroll" function - I twist it clockwise or anticlockwise and this acts as a scrollwheel would.

It may sound impossible but will you able to change different kind of carrier?  Because? So we can play Me-109T and Ju-87C from Graf Zeppelin carrier without have to go to mission builder all time. Good idea? Thank you.

What about *not* putting the same request twice at different places of the forum... but a single one in "requests" section?

 I am sorry, I post first one in wrong place...however I wonder if someone at 109/190 may have good answer there.

Hi Snowleopard!

  It could be possible to make a MissionPro not only able to change the aircrafts but other actors too. The problem is that the screen space is not too big to show other fields.

  Something that could be interesting and that I many times thought was to give the chance of selecting the time and the weather condition, but I don't know where to place the comboboxes. Neither I know where to place a carrier or ship selector field.

  Hi Pablo
 I had thinking as look at them and how it work...look impossible.   Soon as you said "weather..." I sudden remembered DCG can do that so I should ask about get DCG to able to work with new add ships as well accept new MOD planes too.    Still I really enjoy play pro mission. Thank you a lot

@ benitomuso

I love this mod and I must have it in my game, but I cannot zoom in and out because I don’t have a mouse wheel. So some tine in the future would you please make a version of MissionPro without the mouse wheel feature. Maybe you over looked it, but I have made a post on this before and I even PM'ed you but I did not get a reply from you. Please help me benitomuso.

Slikk,
           I read your previous comment, sorry. The fact is that it is really hard to cover all the different configurations that all of us could have. From a statistical point of view, more than the 95% of the users have the more standard configuration for PCs which is a mouse with a scroll wheel. So I adopted that approach.

  Being sincere, I don't remeber now how it used to work previously to my MOD. How did you get the zoom function in the map before it? Was clicking alternately the right and the left mouse buttons?

  Not right now, but in the future probably I would make a reviewed version of the MOD and I can include all these details.

  Regards,
                     Pablo

In the stock game you access the zoom function by right clicking the mouse.

Hi benitomuso
Looking at the QMB's pic in the first post may I ask you how you managed your air.ini in that way?
I've already tweaked mine as stated in the tutorial thread but your seems different.
Thank you in advance.

I have very strange problem
I want to try using MissionPro in campaign (Luftwaffe Center) but my game keep crashing all the time on 100% map load with memory cant be read error.
This is strange since i can easy load in FMB lot more bigger maps with huge amount of planes in air and dont encounter any error.

I was checking that and it seems to crash on load every time mission have more than 4 flights.

Thank you very much benitomuso. I just installed the mission pro and gives me the chance to fly in career mode any plane. Just great.

I can´t get the Ebro or cartagen maps in the QMB, but i suppose that i missed something in the install, i´ll try again in a few days and i´ll asl you advice if i continue having problems.

Thanks again

Hi Pablo,

it´s me again. Beeing a noob as for using mods (apart the enjoyr patch i have once added) i have following question:
Having IL-2 patched to 4.09m can I install and use Mission Pro and QMBPro? In my conf.ini file there´s no [Mod] entry, maybe i can add it?
Will i really need the huge Ultrapack just to use these two?

Thx to let me know!

Mission Pro is very useful but it would be nice to also have a version that works with normal aspect ratio screen, not just wide screen. I do have a wide screen monitor but I play IL2 with a normal view, despite having black bars on both sides of my screen. I do this because I don't like the lesser vertical view that wide screen mode gives you.

Hello

First, thank you very much for this MUST HAVE mod.

I use 4.10.1mUP3 with older MissionProPAL from this link https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,3594.0.html
I have read all post with no reference to UP3, is there any version to use with UP3?

Thanks

OK, i have wrong the new post.
Sorry
