I worked hard looking for information on roads, railways and so on. in 1936 and I think the map is true to the reality of that time.
Plays the first step of the Nationals to Madrid and the Battle of Madrid. In late 1936 the front in the area of the map is parked and remained unchanged until the end of the war. The battles of Brunete, Jarama and Guadalajara can be played using the airfields that were actually used.
I made a few mods to customize buildings especially Madrid.

I must join to all above guys who admire this awesome work on map making . It is truely fantastic. There are three milestones in map making, IMHO:
1. Slovakia map, made by a group of guys in 3 years.
2. Canonuks map of London and Paris region, made within less than two years.
3. RedEye_jir, yours one, made in such short time after your Northern Spain map.
These works are so fantastic that I am hesitating , whether to continue my work on Belarus map at all. >:(

Thank You - A beautiful map.

A great addition to the Spanish maps in DBW. Only wish I could get the detail as good on my machine as shown on the video.

Cheers - Redfox

I thought Northern Spain was the best Spanish map, but this is incredible. Not only the deep attention to detail, but the huge area covered...I take my hat out.
Are you planning to make also 4.101 version for modact 3.0?

If I remember correctly the [MAP2D] error usually indicates that it can't find the load.ini. Check the location of the folder.

Seems to work well in DBW

Loads, saves and plays.

Had to move files into their proper DBW locations.

I have mine installed in HSFX5.1

To get it to work install in MODS folder as usual.
Also add the new objects provided by Jir

Then run Universal Static.ini Checker to see if you are missing any objects.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,10282.0.html

Then you need to track down the missing objects, if any.
Boomers Object Pack was useful in this respect but I think its no longer posted here.

Post a request for any objects you are missing and a source will be found ;)

 :(Hi ,

I have an issue with this map : I cannot save a mission in FMB.
I am playing DBW1.6. I have installed the map and folders in the DBW# folder , I have added the all.ini line. I can load the Map in FMB, define the planes etc..., just it doesn't save it... I have run the static checker , it gives me no error or missing objects message ? Any idea ? Anyone has tried to create a mission for this map with FMB in DBW1.6 ?

thanks for your help

A trick
Line to suppress the "bldconf.ini" when a map does not save the missions:
(builder.PlMisDestruction)
/ / (builder.PlMisDestruction)
You can then re-add.
Title: Re: Map Central Spain
Post by: redfox on September 22, 2011, 05:53:31 PM
I have it saving in DBW1.6.

Pasted the TEX and map folders into Mapmods and added the load.ini line to all.ini.

Dropped the 3do folder into STD folder.

And copied the new lines in enclosed static.ini into the end of my static ini.

The lines to copy are at the end of the static ini and start with:

//================================================================================
[***]
Title Mod_JIR
//================================================================================

and everything below.

Hope that helps - Redfox

Thanks Red_eye, the trick worked ! Very nice map ! I have just a wish, if we could have people in the towns, they look to me a bit unpopulated, maybe all people have joined the bunkers during the alert !

??? People? That's for mission builders rather than map builders. Anything built into a map by the builder can't be removed by the player in game; you'd soon get fed up of seeing the same bunch of folks loitering on the street corners!

Lovely map Jir - thankyou very much.  :)

"Si me quieres escribir ya sabes mi paradero"
"El frente de Gandesa"
"Los emboscados"
This song reached enormous popularity in Spanish Civil War. It is known by this three titles
As in all popular adaptations there are different texts to this tune that was sung on both sides, and vary depending on the scenario of combat and protagonists. It was originated in a song that was sung during the war in Africa in 1920 when Abd-El-Krim revolted against the Spanish protectorate

Many thanks Franju, I am very interested in the Spanish Civil War from some family involvements on the Republic side and this tune caught my attention, I thought it must be from that period but my Spanish is not very good, muchas gracias.

Thank you for this nice map.  I was comparing it with agracier's Madrid map.
I like that this one includes more of the northern territory and Guadalajara region.
It is more "green" than the Madrid map so I'm a little confused about which one being more accurate.  I suppose it does get more dry and dusty during the summer time.
The cities have more gray concrete and pavement, and more color, and In my opinion a good thing.
I like that the larger airfields have a unique look about them but the smaller grass airfields all look the same.

I do like this map alot and it's probably my favorite SCW map, along with Madrid map as well.  Good work!

A little trivia ... in many parts of Republican Spain, air raid shelters were built under churches ... especially if they were, a often the case, built on high ground or on a small hill. This was in the (mistaken) belief that Falangists wouldn't bomb churches.

You can still go into many of these and wander around. Few are closed off and at first glance one would not think the openings were entrances to air raid shelters. The last years, some of the entrances have been encased in concrete, to prevent erosion I would think.

Absolutely outstanding map, a true piece of art........well done Redeye i just love the detail, all that populating must have been a real feat of endurance but in my opinion elevates you to the top of the map builders tree with the all time greats. Thanks very much for this and all the hard work that you've put into it, i'll have fun with this for a long, long time.

It take enourmous time to populate towns for missions and loadingtime would be unmanageble. I used to populate around where the actions are not the whole map. Simply because of the FPS drop it is to have action around nice town like this unpopulated . If you populate the town and have action around it the gameengine can simply not handle it

RedEye_Jir,

After a few RL interruptions, I finally seized an opportunity to install and fly your Central Spain Map. Your map is absolutely stellar work! One of things I like about IL-2 is its quality of scenery, which for me, gives playing this game more of the feeling of being there. You have done an exceptional job maximizing IL-2's visual and "being there" potential with your map.

So, I thank you very much for this beautiful map, for the research you put into creating it, for adding to our static object inventory, for animated flags, and for providing a alternate download source that I can access.

Cheers,

Riptide

With all new SCW aircraft swooping in, we really need this map.

I've just tested it and it is GREAT! I know a bit of Madrid, and I think it's probably the best recreated city in IL-2, save for Canons London.

This map is a MUST in DBW 1.8!!!!!!

I have one problem though, and interestingly enough I have the same problem on all RedEye_Jir's maps, and thats is that I get that strange BLUE horizon glitch - on this one, on the Northern Spain map, on the Northern Africa map. It is extremely annoying.  >:(

Anyone knows what to do here?

Post by: Airbourne on June 18, 2012, 06:23:15 AM
I have only just seen your post, Poltava. I have the same problem and I find that the answer is to put in another F map of your choice in the map folder. I use the one from West Front 44 though in that case it is called WF44Smap-F so you have to change the reference to it in the load.ini as well. I find that works well on northern Spain and not quite so well on Central Spain but still better than the original. I have not yet made any changes to the North Africa map because I haven't used it much so far.

I actually solved this VERY annoying problem by updating the graphics cards drivers and then switching video modes, from DirectX to the other thing (or was it the other way around?). Sorry, but I'm not at home right now!  :P

There is a solution. And the map is worth it, believe me!!!

Thank you Sir, very nice map for SCW. Just a small correction: a small village SW the city of Ávila is "El Barraco de Ávila" and not -El Barco de Ávila-, thanks.

Best,
