Nice to see that there is a new version of the BombBay mod in there that works with 4.10.1? I wonder if it's a seperate JSGME item and if it works with ModAct as well so we can finally have the Plutonium effects package working in the new patch environment!

I've kinda got some loyalty to UltraPack and SAS so will wait for UP3.0 to surface. Looking at the contents of this readme that cannot be far off ?
Did notice that the Do217 isnt flyable ?? Or did I miss something? Shame we cant extract 'CertsAI' until UP is available?

The whole pack is very efficiently put together with the aim of optimising it for online use.

2 Questions about H5FX:
^why don't you use 5 instead of S to signalize v5? (no, it's not one of those questions :P)
1. Is JetWar56 compatible with it? Because there are already old MiGs and Sabress in it, and also some effects from HG&P (Plutonium wasn't compatible with BBE Fx which are included in JetWar)?

This is a great modpack, thanks very much to all involved. It seems very rich and will be able to provide entertainment for more SEOW years certainly !
If i may add a quick nitpick, SONAR is sadly still very much here, too bad a better integration of Tiger's antiSONAR files couldn't be done despite your efforts.
I also noticed that P40E/N 3D corrections for dihedral are not included, maybe for a later addition ?

Hi CWMV. I dont think there is this question anymore. HSFX caters for a sepcific group, and so does UP, and the mature view they are taking is to focus on those groups, without compromising to the other, which is not needed anymore. I think it is great. The divercity will make the IL2 world richer.
Some people may find they like both packs, and I myself will have an install of each. I use UP for my own "mega game building" mod install, and I always have a HSFX install also, but I am not a SEOW player, and usually I use it for reference, or to see some of the clever ways they made some things.
My congrats to HSFX on the release. I cannot wait to DL. :)

right click on torrent link and save it - then load it through your torrent client....

Download a bittorrent client, then in Firefox or else right klick save, no need to attach the files here. Just go to your Download folder and open with the torrent client, make sure to mark every file and click download. Rate is slow here, too many peers, but less people seeding. Let it go doing, don't wait for it. It took me 12 hrs. Even if you don't set your connectivity or bandwidth you can download, it's hard to go through the pro settings.
Anyway, UP or HSFX, all share the same philosophy and deserve much respect for providing us with new IL-2 content.
Just saying it works flawless, install fine and now I'm leaving for vacation. Friends, happy flying with this.

I must say that the Do-17 cockpit's whetted my appetite more than a bit! I was going to wait for UP, but I'm sorely tempted to get hold of this (having enjoyed HSFX 4 immensely). Unfortunately, torrents are of no use to me; is there any hope of a "normal" download becoming available?

I have. Its great. The cockpit is authentic looking (I'm no expert on Dorniers). I've not been able to master the missiles yet. Need more practice.

If you enable the 'expert' FM in JSGME then apparently the P47D-27_Late gets an R-2800-57(C) and perforoms line an M model.

nly one thing: however somebody messed up one of my favourite planes :( The Beaufighter X. The rear-gunner now fyeres in every direction. Straight ahaed too ! and the new (a little stubby) torpedoes is not fixed in the correct position on the plane !
I already tryed to install the SAS.beaufighter Pack in the MOD-folder but, (while all other Beau-Mods appeared correctly) the BeaufighterX-Bugs did not change.
Does anybody know waht I can do for getting the good old BeauX again ? ?

Two days of patience for me. Usually D/L with torrents is about 5/6 hours. Great pack and one worry : what the hell did they choose the FM of DT for Spits !
About several years trimming my plane to right with Merlin engine, now trimming to left hard.

Seeding? Simply that you through your torrent program makes the files in the torrent available to others as well. Basically a torrent works by people sharing the D/L files, and the more seeders the more speed!

Thats basically all you have to do: have your own torrent program running, it takes care of everything! and it seeds to the benefit of us who haven't got it, yet. And when I have D/L all the files, I become a seeder as well :)

This has to be the best version of the game to date. I enabled perfect maps and expert mode as well. All I have to do now is add a few extra mods, most importantly the P40 mods so I can get into those MTO and SW Pacific campaigns, and try out DCG, and it should be perfect. Definitely a keeper - at least until something better comes along!

Yep, the P40 wing dihedral mod works in HSFX v5.0. I just created a MODS folder in the IL2 Sturmovik directory and dropped in the +P40-New Wings mod. Shot down a couple of Bettys over the Solomons just to check!

Hi, all installed it and so far so good with just 1 glitch. I cant fly the b-29, it has no cockpit. the silverplate has a cockpit and works fine. can anyone please test and confirm? im running it over 4-101m fresh install, hasf 5 and new front screen shows and it also relaods into 4-101m as it should.

Thats very mysterious.. software that went from working.....user does nothing at all...Corrupt.. (and the strangest corruption I have ever heard of, usually if there is a corruption il2 won't load.)
Your Hard drive old ? We have run and tested this literally thousands of times in the last months. I have never heard of anything like what you describe from any other user in 2 + years.

Hi guys, does anyone know where the creaking noise under g is located, trying to get rid of it when flying offline.
i've demounted the 2 HSFX sound sfs files, and moved them elsewhere, and mounted the 2 SAS sound sfs files and moved them in.
it all sounds like my modact 4.101 install now, except the creaking is still there ???
i kinda figured it was going to be somewhere in the HSFX sfs files, not sure where to look now.

They also use open canopy mod for mig 3 witch fuck up the pit on SU 2

No problems with quick missions or game crashing here. That's a real strange issue - possibly those with that problem have not upgraded correctly to v4.10.1 before they installed HSFX? Just a thought.
I agree with fruitbat about the creaking sound, I feel like I am on old sailing boat rather that a high performance WW2 aircraft. Would be good to be able to delete that effect.
So far the only additional mods I have installed are NOMAPFRAME and +P40-New Wings. Just about everything else worthwhile is already included, although I daresay it won't be long before I add more stuff.
Installed and playing Poltava's Vampires campaign. Fantastic. Thanks for the superb job Poltava, one of your best (and that's saying something!)

I had loads of problem with first install, but over a clean 4101 install it is bugfree . exept from the bug on SU 2 pit.
I installed Benitomussos mods (QMB pro Mission pro minimap and hudconfig) in jsgmemods and they work fine

(believe it or not we actualy did make them softer than they were originally)I have not got HSFX 5 dowloaded yet...it will take a few days. Does it have a MODS and a FILES folder? If so, I can get those files and do you guys a little "no-creak" patch, even while I still am downloading the whole pack :)

There's a "Files" folder (lower case) with the usual sub-folders but no "MODS" folder with the default installation. I created a separate "MODS" folder and installed a couple of mods, which seem to work OK so far.

No it does not have mods folder, I had to put Benitomussos exelent mods in jsgmemods and it worked. Had some fuzz with ecran wide but that too worked after a while , with some conf. adjustments

has files folder, but you have to add the mods folder by default, works as normal though.

Is there any chance to make HSFX5 compatible with Jet-Era? May be something like a patch? I don't want to change HSFX to UP.... :(

If you are not a SEOW player, then you should have a clear reason for getting something like HSFX. HSFX has also , as far as I have been told by its creators, employed some measures to make casual updating of it like adding new planes or stuff a lot harder, for added protection of their oline SEOW game. We have been asked not to interfere with this, and since many of us also are SEOW players and HSFX hlpers, we will of course respect this. HSFX updates will come through HSFX, especially ini related stuff that affects compatibility.

Interisting, that means I stick with UP now.
And 4.09, of course.
But I also applaude the HSFX team. Flying a BF-109, Mustang or P-38 there
was pretty funny, the effects and sounds amazing for a clean modpack.
I wish I could have those Flyby sounds with my 409 Histomod Sabres. I already tried the Tiger Flyby sounds in the Jet Era pack, but it didn't work.
Anyway, congrats to a cool release, HSFX was my first love with IL-2 mods and my favourite install still is
a modded HSFX4.11 one. HSFX 4.xx also had the best clouds IMHO except they were flickering.

I have problems with russian text in the campaigns. I have googled like a crazy and i get no results. I have tried [rts] locale=en with no results. I even tried de to se if it turned to german, but no. Plz help i cannot read russian.

Gonna do it all over again with fresh install, DO217 is very nice and I appreciate it, but not much use in a dogfight.
For folk that think I ballsed up the install. Every patch was installed with a restart in between (just to be safe). Sitting pretty at 4.10.1 and then did HSFX, everything was fine, then gradually stopped working.

Have to say that after running some QMB missions for the past few days with this new HSFX 5.0 there is an over all new realistic feeling and sight that seems added into the game. Maybe it's just me or the boxed wine I'm drinking. But I've been flying mostly the MiG-3 updated version in QMB 1941 missions up against same period German machines with my old trusty Microsoft Sidewider. While the MiG-3 happens to be one of my favorite of the Russian rides and have been flying it a lot over my time with IL-2, there is a completely new feeling to it's flight and control response and also seems to have better climb than the old game version vs HSFX 5.0. But it's not just with the MiG-3, it is also with other the aircraft and the over all feel to the game play and better look to the old maps and other effects that take place during the game.
Again... maybe it's just me or a glass to many of wine. But something sure seems to be clicking together right with this new HSFX 5.0 package and it truely feels like the game finally has all the correct pieces and parts put together and working for a very close as you can get into the seat of a fighter plane and take to the skies of WWII. And what a ride over the years! LoL
Again... to all that worked on this project and to Oleg & crew that made this all possible it the first place... Thank's.

Plane's originally G Limits is a new function at 4.10m.
Are HSFX5.0.1's additional new planes Ki-44, F-86, F-84...etc. enabled at G Limits?
When I fly high speed and pull up suddenly, a pilot is BlackOut, but plane's body is not damaged.
I use "EXPERT mode".

G limits have been added for all additional New Planes.
We took values from 'similar' aircraft in most cases. ( so for example, a new zero will have a similar limit to a stock one)
You can best see this pulling out of a high speed dive of course.
Make sure you have the G limits option enables in the game settings if you are not seeing it.

Yes, stugumby. I checked it. Another plane works perfectly, but Ju-88 night fighter doesn't. I've installed 4.101, HSFX 5.0.1 and the last SAS buttom v.8.4. Ju-88 plane shows in QMB screen, but doesn't work if you want fly (no cockpit show)
Another problem I've found is 00_PAL-HUDCONFIG v.4.10 mod: if you change your cockpit view to cockpit aim (Ctrl shitf F1) the game stops, press Ctrl shift F1 twice again and the game works again. I've check this without any mod, only HSFX history mod, obviously, and 00_PAL-HUDCONFIG v.4.10.

I'm happy to see the inclusion of Mixx's North Norway map but confused as to why you didn't use the updated version.
I successfully loaded the newer version into v5.01 without problems and it will save missions.

Another question, about Jets AI fuel culculation.
I flyed a Quick Mission "Scramble" with F-86A and F total 6.
After fights, I landed my HomeBase.
But other AIs' 5 F-86A/F became out of fuel. No plane came back to HomeBase.
I think, F-86 uses more more fuel than recipro planes, AI mistook at culculating?
At same time, AIs' F-84G flyed "Air start" , they came back to Homebase and landed.

Sirs,,I'm having issues with this new mod pack. First off I fly IL2 forr the big bombers and prefer online play over single player. Without them it's useless to me. The problem is I Can't fly my B-17 online. I tried it in quick mission and have b-17 cockpits but nothing online but problems. I have the 5.0 and added the hotfix 5.01 (it shows the little 1 even). Also added the dirrect to drive patch as that's what I have. Any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated as I hear others in the skies of valor server with the same problems.
I'm sure in someone's mind this change was needed,,but for us average & busy guys that use this as entertainment,,spending 42 hours waiting for a download that doesn't work is a bit frustrating and I fail to see the hoohaa about the change after finally getting the bugs out of 4.09. I'm not a big fan of the torrent download anyway.

I can't select nav beacons. Or change the compass. Funny cause I was just getting into flying with no map icons or player icon and navigating by compass, landmarks and beacons... really gives me a sense of being lost behind enemy lines and having to find my way home before i run out of fuel.
The the flight models seem subtly changed for the better too... Love the Do217 pit :)

Enable 'Expert Mode' and you will be able to join those servers.
Just:- Make sure that you have advanced navigation option turned on in the difficulty options.

IL-2 Compare for HSFX 5.0
This version of IL-2 Compare was developed for HSFX 5.0 and is included as part of the HSFX 5.0 download. During the installation of HSFX 5.0 there is an option to install this version of IL-2Compare. This is an updated version to the one that was release with HSFX 5.0 that has a few of the last min changes that did not make it into the final release of HSFX 5.0. I will also be updating this as new planes get added to HSFX 5.0 and I will also be adding more real world data performance tests

IL-2 Compare changes
There were several changes made to IL-2 Compare some of the most notable listed here
1) In this version of IL-2 Compare all the performance data is relative to the standard atmosphere as apposed to the atmosphere of the Crimea map. The purpose for using the flight test map is two fold; one the flight test map is set to standard atmospheric conditions; two most if not all real world test data is converted to standard atmospheric conditions. Therefore using the flight test map to collect data on allows for the direct comparisons between in-game data and real world data.
2) In this version of IL-2 Compare there is two types of data, one IL-2 in-game data and two real world data (RWD). The real world data is obtained from real world test reports and converted to the IL-2 Compare data file formats. The real world data comes in two types, flight test data and estimated (read calculated on paper) data. Where the flight test data is data collected during an actual flight test and the estimated data is data that was derived by flight test engineers. One should keep in mind that estimated data can be very optimistic in some cases and very conservative in others and therefore should not be taken as fact. Also note that only the altitude vs. rate of climb and altitude vs. TAS data is provided, in that these were the two standard tests done in WWII. Thus the other graphs and features in IL2Comp will not work with RWD. The brackets at the beginning and end of the file name are used to separate and sort the RWD from the in-game data. More RWD will be added over time as a separate download. The purpose of including real world data is so the in-game plane performance can be compared to the real world test data performance to see how well the in-game plane matches the real world data.
3) Many of the labels on the graphs were re-named, for example 100% was renamed to MIL, for military power settings, and 110% was renamed to WEP, for war emergency power settings.

I made a thread in the lounge about this, but It would probably have made more sense to post here.
With the early 109's, everything is great with one exception, the 109C loses power under negative G. This is at odds with reality as the C had the Jumo 210Ga with fuel injection, so it wasn't susceptible to the negative G power loss that the B and D were.
I'm running HSFX 5.1 in SAS 3.2.
Any comments, or am I the only one that noticed?

After consulting the UP3 readme I've decided to go for this instead (UP3s apparent omission of a flyable Do-17 and any maps were the clichers). Sadly, it appears the files are no longer available from rapidshare. Are there any other static downloads availabe? Plus, is the readme for HSFX5 around anywhere?

Needs to be installed on a clean version IL-2 v4.10.1

which adds your Mods folder with default ini's and properties files so that you can customise things.
Its a much smaller download than UP which is one of the reasons I like it.

I used the torrent download to get mine. Works much better for me with slow broadband speeds.
Your right. The rapidshare link does seem to be dead but there is an alternative Hotfile link on the same page which works fine.
As CrazyFlak says, if quantity of mods is important to you then UP certainly has the greater content.
However I have had no problem adding additional maps and mods to HSFX. My added mods include IL2 1956 Jet Pack and new maps like West Front 1944.

Well, since i have few mins to post I'll clear some "foggy" areas. UP and HSFX are so similar yet so Different things.
You cannot compare oranges with apples and same applies for both packs.Ashe said "quantity of addons".
By saying this someone would simply imply that: "Ok UP 3.0RC has more planes, objects, ships, and stuff like this"
However the truth is much more "deep". In UP you have addons that really Evolve IL2 and adds to it other dimentions of experience. You cannot treat "ZUTI's MDS 1.2" like just "another addon". Its a whole different world, a whole different experience that changes multi-player forever by enabling multi-crew positions, resource management and Rearm Repair Refuel possibilities. Stock "MDS" in 4.10.1m has around 10% of the functionality that the MDS 1.2 currently has in UP 3.0 RC. In the same category comes Lutz's AI triggers addon. And then the reworked guns and cannons that took literally 1000s of times testing and researching. You cannot treat the above as just "more addons". They belong to a different category. And you cannot just "add" MDS 1.2 like you add a plane.
Moreover many other things are tweaked in UP like the indexing time of the data in the SFS archives and that's why game although has many GBs of additional data loads even faster that the "stock" one. Let alone the fact that game runs smoother that any other addons package and in some cases even more smooth with more FPS than stock game.
Last but not least the SFS archives of UP are like native ones and don't have corrupted data while for other addons packages this is not true. UP is the only addons package that uses the SAME Format (with better indexing and compression ratio) like the one that 1C/MG used for IL2. No-one mod-package has achieved this so far.
All the above and even more are not in the category of "more addons/mods".
I do acknowledge that we have bugs, hence the "RC" version of UP 3.0, and that our ReadMe is unfinished but we will fix the above before the final version.
We have planes and many maps and repaints that are simply out of ReadMe. We haven't promote UP 3.0RC the way we should but we will try to do so before Final Version comes out.

I'm running HSFX 5.0, UP3, and SAS MOdact 3 in the same install, and it works fabulously. Thanks to the guys here and at UP, I can have my cake and eat it too. Now when I go to hyperlobby, I just check what version I need, change it with the handy-dandy switcher (if I need to) and I'm on my way. 4 versions in one install! WOOOHOOO!
