Title: New Mod Wheels [4.09] [4.10] [4.11] [4.12]
Post by: PA_Jeronimo on May 04, 2013, 11:47:07 AM
This is the first part of the New Mod Wheel in which currently only includes the USAAF and USN planes

I explain a bit although I imagine that since you have seen some screenshots, in this new version I tried adding LOD's, that some models had different in each skin textures are reflected also in new textures combining wheels with MOD Skins of.

I have reviewed almost all shades, hooks and some landing gear, now the shadows are not orthogonal and the problem of some aircraft that appeared with the wheels sunk into the ground is solved.

I've also tried to add variety in terms of tires and disks and improve occasional landing gear as you can see in the last two catches.

Nice implementation!  Was wondering how to control disc display, for example on the tomahawkIIa I see that the wheel disc appears as it does for the Mohawk (solid gray) as compared to the blue/red/white yin/yang display (flying tigers wheels).

On some models (for example Tomahawk, Hawk-81, P-40, etc...) the outer face of the disc is the one that comes in the Skin. If you change the Skin to one with a different disc he found appearing in the wheels on some models. ;)

Post by: PA_Jeronimo on May 28, 2013, 03:22:15 AM
Not should I have any problem with any version, the files are the same.

The only difference between the DBW and HSFX version is the name of the folders corresponding to the P-38 model, which is different for both versions, the rest is completely identical.

... name of the folders corresponding to the P-38 model, ...

Actually, the suited version for UP is HSFX, for the reason you mentioned.

Thanks for the big improvement and your attention to details ("customization" is really the icing on the cake!). I hope that Axis (Germany, Japan, Italy) will follow...

Best regards,
GB

 First of all thank you very much for this mod, I'm just loving it, thanks again.
 I was just wondering if anyone has this situation too?  I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I noticed after installing this mod, it only affected the FW190-A models. It seems the wheel skirts are gone? (the part that cover the entire wheel while the landing gear is folded up under the wings)  I'm opened to any suggestions for this situation.  Best regards
 I tried attaching a picture but with no luck, sorry.

I think it is a problem of the Mod, check if happens on all maps or only in winter.

(http://i42.tinypic.com/15yhnbr.jpg)

This Mod does not include the Fw-190, these fantastic wheels are by Claymore and if I mistake not remove these parts of the landing gear in winter maps too, imagine that in reality would be removed to avoid problems with the snow.

Yep, its built into the 190 pack.

My mistake PA_Jeronimo, it did not dawn on me about the winter conditions. That's a very good explanation about the winter months, I never thought of that.  Best regards, ~S~  :)

... imagine that in reality would be removed to avoid problems with the snow.

Quoting caption at pg.47 of "Focke Wulf Fw 190 in action" by Jerry L. Campbell, Squadron/Signal Publications Inc., 1975:

"A line up of Fw 190F-8s belonging to 2./SG 2 shows several variations of winter camouflage schemes. The wheel pants have been removed to keep snow and mud from collecting."

Thanks Semor, I have intention of completing all appliances included in IL-2, but as will be seen in this Mod now not only are the rims and tyres, also I'm reviewing the hooks, trains of landing, shadows, etc... and as you understand is something that takes time, more if it's so many models.

To not go posting each model individually had thought to do it by air force. I have quite developed VVS models but still ones I still have few, in as complete them publishes this pack.

Jero

I am seriously going to tear my hair out right now!!  I absolutely love this mod, and I do have 4.12.1 + SAS Modact 5.22, and this was listed under compatible mods, along with the engine and propeller fix, but when I tried putting this mod into the jsgmemods folder, and even putting a # or a ! in-front... Nothing.  I have always had problems with installing mods and I could never figure out how.

This Mod is ready for operation from the MODS folder, although it can be adapted to work from jsgmemods creating the appropriate folders.

If you use SAS ModAct try to unzip it in the folder #SAS.

New update VVS

In this pack are almost all planes that flew in the VVS, I added shadows, modified landing gear and hooks to match the height from the ground, I hope you like it.

I have also grouped the links above in a pack All-in-One, you can find it at the end of the first post.

Hi Jero, my Lagg-3 wheels seems to have a slightly different hub
(http://i990.photobucket.com/albums/af30/henkntb/2013113012-09-38_zps4e008740.jpg)

Do you have any idea what could cause this?
Title: Re: New Mod Wheels
Post by: Griffon_301 on November 30, 2013, 10:55:34 AM
I have this problem as well, but there is an easy cure;
just copy the black wheel discs from the options folder into the respective LaGG-3 folder in the main mod and you are good to go with correct wheel discs;
this on a DBW/newTFM install;
have not tried the 4.12 version though.....

Title: Re: New Mod Wheels
Post by: PA_Jeronimo on November 30, 2013, 11:38:37 AM
I just checked that in the Mod that I've uploaded are only included black textures and green, not blue, often mistake on my part, but are properly not like to you in the capture.
Is possible that when you install it you do not overwritten the textures? Another explanation I can think.

Title: Re: New Mod Wheels
Post by: BravoFxTrt on November 30, 2013, 12:02:41 PM
Iv just check all of mine (Lagg's) and they are all correct. Maybe reinstall Fresh the whole Pack. :-\
Title: Re: New Mod Wheels
Post by: Griffon_301 on November 30, 2013, 08:40:09 PM
as said, my install shows the same problem as described, DBW1.71/newTFM with the new wheels loaded near the top of the mods folder....
copying over other wheeldiscs from the options folder completely cured the problem;
and I like the black wheelsdiscs quite a lot :)

I think that deleting whole previous mod before to copy new one is a good idea to avoid any possible conflict.

I did so with HSFX version installed on UP2.01 and had no quirks so far.
Title: Re: New Mod Wheels
Post by: henkypenky on December 01, 2013, 07:34:56 AM
Well first I thought I've found it as Wheels Mod V5.3 with Lagg files was still in my #SAS folder. Removing these didn't solve the problem. Strange thing was that in the Lagg serie 1 & 11 the mod worked. After some cutting and pasting I've got it working with the black discs. I replaced the GearL1_D0.msh and GearR1_D0.msh files from the Noves Rodes with the one from the Lagg serie 1 & 11 mod and that was the solution.  :)

GearL1_D0.msh from Noves Rodes is 140kB and dated 17-9-2013, from Lagg 1its 138kB and dated 22-6-2013

That is the best solution to avoid conflicts, but if I'm honest I have both mixed wheels mods  :-[, just I make sure I delete folders from the old models before you copy the new. With textures is not necessary, just overwrite and ready.

I'm glad that you have solved your problem and that you like the mod. ;)

Here is a little tip from me to have only one Jero's Mod wheels Folder.

First you need his Original Mod Wheels Folder and #_Nuevo Mod de Ruedas Folder.

Copy Paste all contents from  #_Nuevo Mod de Ruedas  to  Mod Wheels Folder.

Then delete those folders that should be still Highlighted from copying over.

Then copy Paste whats left into your #_Nuevo Mod de Ruedas Folder.

Thats it now you have all Jero's Modded Wheels into one Folder.   Enjoy.

Hi Benno,

I cannot assure to him, at the moment I do not have any installation of the 4,09, but it can test, versions DBW and HSFX only changes in the name of the folders of the models P-38 and MiG-15/17, are different in both versions, but the rest is identical. In those models the archives are even such, only changes the name of the folder.

Sorry, amigo, I don't know if the "all in one" works in a 4.09m because I don't use it, but I know that this Luftwaffe pack and the previous USAF pack work in my 4.09m Mods folder

Hello Jeronimo,

May be it is just me but it looks like there is a small bug with the Do17Z tail wheel (not centered) ...  ;)

Little bug (4.09) ! ;)

Standalone Mod Lancaster
In your pack, one LOD mesh files called "gear" file!
This file (gear.mat) does not exist for this aircraft and does not exist in your mod.
I replaced the line of the mesh by "gearII" and everything works!  :)

Wait, we have a  Do-17?

Ok Epervier, I modified it.

The strange thing is that I've taken these lines in the file of this aircraft, perhaps should be an earlier versión. :o

It is for this reason that I specified the version of my game and the nature of the Mod! ;)

Hi Jeronimo,
   Your mods are truly fantastic and adding so much to the simulation! I was wondering if we can have the main gear wheels covers added back to the B-17D and B-17E models. I noticed that all of the B-17 models were missing from my "Options" folder so I wasn't sure if the covers would still be available.

      Thanks,

Hi Wackywings

The model B-17 is included in the Mod, does not appear in the folder options because there is only a model of wheel for this plane, therefore there is no option to change it.

Regards and thanks for your comment ;).

PA_Jeronimo, do you know if there was a new wheels fix for the Heinkel He-219 "Uhu"?
I think I saw something for that airplane once, but I am not sure if you did a new set of wheels for this night-fighter?
I do not see it in your folder for wheel fixe.

If you did not do anything, its ok,
 I will paint new wheels for it. At the moment they look just brown colored and a not so round.

(http://i60.tinypic.com/seo93s.jpg)

That seem so? but if you add a skin to the wheel will be happy to incorporate it, I have always admired your work. ;D

AH! Beautiful wheels! PERFECTO!!
If you were a woman, I kiss you!   ;D AAHAAHAHA
I just started 3 days ago to create a new skin-template for new skins for the He-219. I created the template for the old version and many skins,
but I never created a new one for this version. I just have been busy with other airplane skins.  :-\
No skinner-artist ever made this airplane template available, so there are only 2 skins for this airplane. Made by Harpia Mafra (check at M4T)
So now I want to paint this airplane with all new lines and details.
Epervier recently created new details for it to be more complete. So this is not a Frankenplane anymore, but a complete model aircraft.
These new wheels will help me make it beautiful and REAL once again!
Please send me the new wheels and gear so I can paint details into them.
You are the BEST!
I will send to you the new skins first for you to enjoy this airplane in your personal game before anyone gets them.
In total there will be once again 30+ new skins, just like I created for the last version, but now they will look much more perfect and realistic.
I will post for you WIP screenshots for you to see in the HE-219-UHU post

Cheers
MAX
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AH ! Ruedas hermoso! PERFECTO !
Si fueras una mujer, te beso ! ; D AAHAAH
Acabo de empezar hace 3 días para crear una nueva piel - plantilla para nuevos skins para el He- 219 . He creado la plantilla para la versión antigua y muchas pieles ,
pero nunca he creado uno nuevo para esta versión . Yo sólo he estado ocupado con otras pieles de avión .  :-\
No desollador artista jamás se ha hecho esta plantilla avión disponible, por lo que sólo hay 2 skins para este avión. Realizado por Harpia Mafra ( M4T )
Así que ahora quiero pintar este avión para mirar correcta en todas las líneas y detalles.
Epervier creado recientemente nuevos detalles para que sea más completa. Así que esto no es un Frankenplane más, pero un avión de modelo completo .
Estas nuevas ruedas me ayudará a hacer un avion más REAL , una vez más !
Por favor, envíenme las nuevas ruedas y engranajes para que pueda pintar detalles en ellos.
Usted es el mejor!
Yo os enviaré los nuevos skins primero para que usted pueda disfrutar de este avión en su juego personal antes de que nadie les pone!
En total serán una vez más 30 + pieles nuevas , al igual que he creado para la última versión , pero ahora se verá mucho más perfecta y realista.
Voy a publicar capturas de pantalla "WIP" para que usted  vea en el post HE- 219- UHU
¡Salud
It is seen that age does not forgive, to head the mia, thank you for the report Mick.
This problem can be solved in two ways:
The simplest is to get off the Mod again, now that is fixed https://www.mediafire.com/download/9npt11vfsfy83q3/
The other is to copy the folders from the Beaufort inside the Mod wheel (#_Nuevo Mod wheels/3do/plane) since uses the same textures to this Mod.
Sorry for the inconvenience
I have already asked PA_Jeronimo if possible to fix wheels for DC-3 version of this airplane also.
He is still working on it. We shall wait.
If there was one version already created, perhaps it should work on the rest of the same airplane?
Change the name of the files, perhaps?
Jero, do you plan on fixing this atrocity?
:-\ I don't know if I would go so far as to call ANYTHING in our beloved game an atrocity... for without the work of our modder friends and neighbors, Il-2 may have died long ago, and for many including myself, this would mean being "grounded" from the virtual skies that give many of us wings, who may otherwise never have a chance to fly...
Jero has already released a fortunes worth in beautiful work, and is a great artist, but he cant mod ALL of the time, or else he couldn't enjoy the game that he's put some much into...
As Max has said, Jero is a diligent worker and takes careful note of our wishes, I'm sure we will see new tires in the future for this and more great planes. I will also be patient and see what happens next. For me personally I hope to see a beautiful new model for the Sturmoviks. Our title aircraft deserves a once, or twice, or three times over. But I am thankful for any gifts in the time deemed appropriate by their creators!
P.S.:
Many, many thanks Jero for ALL of your work past, present and future! My game is incomplete without them!
Title: Re: New Mod Wheels
Post by: Maty12 on June 07, 2014, 08:32:08 PM
I just think it's weird how some aircraft are some much more accurate in the game than others. The Tu-2S had the same tires as this one. The flyables (B-25s, P-40s, P-51s, A-20s) just look more accurate then the B-24, or the C-47 variants. Jero can make these birds even more accurate. To me, he makes the game's aircraft look as detailed as in War Thunder (or even Battle of Stalingrad at times), but with the fun and realistic gameplay of IL-2 1946. Honestly, Jero's cowling fixes were the main reason I modded my game. Well, that and the B-26. And being able to fly all aircraft. But modestly Jero's cowlings.
Title: Re: New Mod Wheels
Post by: Fresco23 on June 07, 2014, 10:42:11 PM
I agree with you for sure.  :)
Jero's cowlings/spinners is the first mod into every build I set up, second is the Screenshot Propellor, then which-ever cloud mod I am using at the time. Then wheels/tires, the Mustang overhaul, Barnesy's pilots, and J-Cats stuff, followed by SAS~packs(jugs reloaded, Ultimate 109s, Claymore's 190s), and then sound mods like the female DE/GB-ground controllers. All these, I consider "requirements". :D Later, once everything is "ready", only then will I add individual planes, ships, etc.
Mick, je pense que tu utilises le vieux wheels mod V5 de Barnesy/Jeronimo avec le mod C-47 de Ranwers.
I think it's the old wheels mod V5 from Barnesy/Jeronimo with Ranwers C-47 3D rework.
I am still missing a DC-3 passenger wheel fix in my game. I have new engine fix but not the wheels.
Since the DC3 is a civilian version of the C-47, could I create a folder with name DC3 and drop the
wheels-fix files of the C-47 into it ?
... Or drop the C-47 files of wheel-fix into the Mod-folder for the DC-3?
What do you reccomend I should do to test?
Jeronimo
While loading a mission containing Bf 110E-1, I got an "INTERNAL ERROR: can't load gear.mat", which blocked mission loading.
I removed "gear.mat" from Bf 110E-1 folder in your "New mod wheels" and the mission then loaded regularly.
FYI
Thanks,
People,
                        is there any fix for the Il-4 problema with the landing gear? As son as you start a mission in land it collapses because some hooks are not recognized and doesn't attach the langing gear.
  Regards,
                              Pablo
Hi Pablo,
It is strange, I not have this problem, I use 4.12.2 and HSFX 7.
(http://i61.tinypic.com/59tud.jpg)
Ensure that not there is a conflict with another mod? What version you used?
I have found that did not modify the hooks of this plane. Not long ago I had the same problem in a campaign with the Fw-190 was a conflict of Mods.
Sorry to not be of more help. :-[
The Bf-110E-1 model does not take any gear.mat file, the file necessary is called gearII.mat.
Maybe that file is from a previous version of the mod, I have no other explanation.
Jero.
Thank you Jero! I got the original Il-4 from TD, applied your Wheels MOD over, placed it on top of my downloads and everything worked OK. I don't know what was wrong before.
I think you forgot "Ki-43-III(Ko)(ja)". Also, could you please consider the Fw 190 series?
Thank you!
Hi GB,
It is possible, I have found that in the HSFX is only necessary (Multi1) folder, I will add "Ki-43-III(Ko)(ja)" folder for the next upgrade, thanks for report. :)
The Fw-190, I have not raised them, usually nearly all packs, DBW, HSFX, etc ... include Claymore Mod for this model, https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20351.0.html, which already includes many enhancements, including wheels, I do not think the would make best.
Regards
Jero. ;)
Thanks for headup, I'd forgot that. Unfortunately, I've not torrent and both regular downloads of old and new version from UploadHero are now canceled! To be honest, though, I would have liked more only wheels.
Having problems making this mod work.
Using Version 4.12.2 + HSFX 7.0.3
I may have the concept of how to install the mod completely wrong. I'm attempting to install the "#_Nou Model de Rodes_V8", by unzipping this file into the HSFX "jsgmemods" folder in the IL-2 folder, then activating it using the JSGMe Mod enabler.
This does create a 3do folder, in the IL-2 root folder. But the wheel mods do not show up.
Is this installation procedure wrong?
Thanks.
Hi IronMatrix,
The Mod is designed to decompress in the MODS folder, if you want to activate it with the JSGME will need to create an intermediate folder named Files, so that this route would be be more or less, #_Nou Model de Rodes_V8/Files/3do/Plane....
Jero.
An observation,
First, yes, I'm a rookie at this mod stuff, but I'm learning as I'm going.
When installing this wheel mod, after having installed the engine, cowling and prop fix the JSGME (HFSX) installer overwrites certain files.
So my question is, is there a preferred order?
I installed in this order:
Yes, referencing, files in the folder named "Extras_fix Cowling Engines & Prop" in the mod.
But, just noticed,
that when attempting to create a COOP server I get a "Selected aircraft NOT created" message when clicking the fly button.
But all seems to work with the dogfight server,
Is there something simple I've missed?
Am doing more research...
As a update to the previous post,
the problem is something to do with the Engine and cowlings mod, the FW-190 series (beta). I'll post additional info under that thread when more is found out.
Ahh! already did not remember that folder, sry. I also follow that order.
On servers not, I haven't tried it, but COOP campaigns have used the mod without any problem.
Thank you for the reply in the props thread on the F2a spinner: I'm searching here to see if this has been mentioned - your Yak-9UT wheels are compatible with the Yak-15..GearL1_D0.msh and GearR1_D0.msh
New folders needed are Yak-15 and Yak-15(Multi1) - copy disc.mat and gearII.mat into these also
Hello Jero,
Recently I finally got around to install the 3 jet airplanes Me-262-C1 and Me-262-C3 Heimatschützers
and Sb.1a Schnellbomber from World War 2.
from https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,28123.0.html
I created 2 new folders with the names...
Me-262C-1a
Me-262C-3a
and then copied and pasted the same new Wheels you made for the "Me-262A-1a" version
and placed them inside these folders. - They work perfect.
Nice round wheels, because these new airplane versions are the same as the Me-262A-1a.
These 2 German jet airplanes actually did exist in WW2. They were real machines.
As for the fictional (paper-airplane) the Me-262SB-1a (Sb.1a Schnellbomber) does not work so good,
so I am still testing what can be done to it with the new wheels.
I also tried your engine and fuselage fixes on these airplanes, but they do not work so good.
Only these wheels can be fixed with your mod.
Cheers
MAX
Max, I have tweaked my C-1a with Jeros Fixes, here's how I did it:
Maintain Folder Hierarchy as follows
1.Jeros Engine/Blister/Props/Wheels etc.
2.your original C-1a Folder
Inside Plane folder of 1. copy A-1a and rename according C-1a + delete the hier.him
open up CF_D0 from 2. Original and copy and paste
Entries from [Common], [Hooks], [HookLoc] replacing in CF_D0 residing in 1.
I only have C-1a Installed atm., I will check the others as we speak.
Update1:
C-3a works with the same method
SB can't use CF_D0..., Blister Meshes, but applying Head, Engines and Wingmeshes is fine here
OK, hoped to be of help, Horrido to all Silber-Pimpers
Kind Regards
Tobias
The He280 had weirdo Wheels, Forward Wheel can be from He162 and the way larger style from Me262
for the aft wheels.
Reference point this Picture
btw. it was from the size difference similar to the He162, that too had a smaller forward and two larger maintracks mounted, look here.
Me262 forward gear is too large, just checked ingame. BTW the gears would need fixing/repositioning,
if not new gear struts, at least for the aft part.
from this topic - https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,26121.0.html
Forum Member "mechanic" has discovered and used new wheels for the Delfin airplane....
- " Giving all credit to PA Geronimo's  #_Nuevo Mod de Ruedas wheels mod for the Grumman Duck , which struck me as similar in essential design to the Gelfin,   I  cut and pasted the four files (Disc, gearII and the two Gear*.msh files) from the Grumman Duck wheels mod to the Gelfin/3do/Plane/Delfin file and upgraded the wheels - to tide me over until the Ruedas mod is updated to include this plane.
I have no idea if historically correct but they look good. If suggesting this interim mod offends mod protocols I do apologize."
- https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,26121.msg515126.html#new
Very cool !  8) I will use them too.
Hello Jero,
Ju-88 has always been one of my favorites bombers.
in the game we have several variants of this aircraft, and indeed, they look great and after adding Fix engines cowlings and prop's and New Mod Wheels almost perfectly.
I think the only drawback of this aircraft (in all models) is a tail wheel, although visible only for a moment at the take-off...
One little airplane that had bad wheels can now look better. The G-11 assault glider.
The old wheels were fat and ugly, so I replace them with the Fi-156 "Storch" wheels , that is inside this pack by PA_Jeronimo.
 They are the same size and color.
Exactly as they look on the real glider aircraft.
(http://www.alternativefinland.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/g29ik.jpg)
Make a new folder named "G-11" and place in it the files named...
Disc
gearII
GearL1_D0
GearR1_D0
...from your Fi-156 folder. --copy and paste-- That is all it´s needed  ;D
Have fun flying gliders into combat !
Perhaps it can, I do not know yet. I have been a little busy lately with modding and upgrading my version of the VPmodpack.
I will be testing to see if I can bring into this game version all my WW1 airplanes and will then start experimenting with
these new wheel-mods.
I think that only some wheels could be used, because WW2 tires are much diferent in design than the WW1 wheels,
 but I will experiment.
Been wondering the same mr. Jeronimo! The love you gave to MiG-15 and F-84 is just amazing! Is there a chance perhaps Panthers could get it? Nose top and wing roots could be smoother, and there are also some lighting glitches on tail and wing trailing edges, airbrakes and front wheel doors...
Hey guys, it is not my "mod" , it is PA_Jeronimo´s. I only repainted the wheel skins for extra details on them.
So it is Jero´s wheels-mod.
If you want to try some tests in your game like I did,
 go and create a new folder with
the name of the airplane (as is written on the air.ini) and then place into this new folder
another selection of files from other airplane-Wheel-Mods from PA_Jeronimo and
see if they fit the airplane nice. ...... MIX-and-MATCH a selection of wheels from other airplane mods :)
Look at my previous post on what I did for the new wheels of the G-11 Glider.
I am sure there may be already a F-80/T-33 set of wheels that may fit this 3d-model.
Or at least a set of wheels that look very much like the ones used on that airplane.
Yes there is. An older version of this mod has the P-80 wheels, they can be adapted also for T-33 and F-94.
I am sure there may be already a F-80/T-33 set of wheels that may fit this 3d-model.
Or at least a set of wheels that look very much like the ones used on that airplane.
Yes there is. An older version of this mod has the P-80 wheels, they can be adapted also for T-33 and F-94.
Great!
Post the link to where its located,
so everyone else can get it and use them  ;)
These are some screenshots of the new F-9 wheels and P-80, but I did them until Max published the new textures, I'll see if I might make another version with the textures of Max.
Nice wheels Jeronimo! Do you perhaps have any plans for further 3d updates of these planes? Thunderjets and Migs look amazing after your work!
I said it before, Jero took IL-2 into the new decade single handedly as for wheels, cowlings etc.  :P :)
Many thanks Jero.
In my game I have the Cowlings-fix folder first and then the Wheels-fix below it in another folder.
But it really does not matter which comes first.
They both have the needed files inside but do not mix them or place them all into one folder,
because later,
 you may want to make changes to them (or a particular airplane) and
you will not know which files to touch. That is what I do.
Question for all...
Has anyone found a nice set of round wheels to replace the wheels on the original U2-VS "mule" biplane from WW2 ?
It is that classic airplane used by the Russian "Night-witches" in night attacks against the enemy.
I have already tried (with success) using the better wheels from a DeHavilland biplane-trainer, but they look
a little small in size. They fit very well, but still look a little small.
I have already tried using the Luftwaffe Storch wheels and the Avia-B534 wheels, but they look too small.
Has anyone found a better set of wheels we could use from this package?
If this is possible, there will be 4 more versions of the U2-VS which will be using these new wheels. Those Mod-aircraft
were already released way back in 2010 by CirX  ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A SOLUTION has been Discovered  :)

Make a new folder named... (inside the same folder where ALL the better wheels mod are located in)
U-2VS
and then go to your folder of the MIG-3 better wheels files - copy the files that are inside and put them into the U-2VS folder.
Now you got the perfect sized wheels and soviet style wheel-rims.

The color will be sky-blue, but you can always color the
wheels rims to another color if you wish.
You will find these in the TEXTURES skin-files named Cobertes_Rodes2 and Disc1

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do the same for the other 3 U-2VS mod-versions ...

U-2UT
U-2NB

from here --- https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1096.0.html

Just place the same MiG-3 wheel files inside those new name folders  ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THANK YOU to PA_Jeronimo for the nice 3d-wheels.
Now they also fit into the classic U-2 airplane.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? It's as if all the hub/tire textures are getting combined together for some reason

(https://s29.postimg.cc/3ulab96lj/27_12_2016_23_03_32.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/image/47cohfov7/)

(https://s27.postimg.cc/49qpx60wz/28_12_2016_17_07_11.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/image/gbm3rba5b/)

I've noticed it on the B5N, P-40B/C, and B-17 family so far. With those couple of exceptions, the other planes in the game don't have any problems running jero's excellent wheel mod.

I've tried loading the mod in front of all my others, and tried re-downloading/installing, still no joy. I'm running SAS MA 4 on 4.11

Thanks!

Max, you're the man! thanks a million, back in business!

While I've got ya though, I tried your U-2VS trick and now I can't get the plane to load... when I click on the black customize aircraft box in the QMB, it just makes an audible click and nothing happens. I followed your directions closely (created folder "U-2VS" in the 3do/planes folder of the wheels mod and copy and pasted the files from the Mig-3 folder)

I am not sure what is happening with your game, but on my version I can select any skin
for all these U-2VS, U-2UT, U-2NB and another type U-2VS(SHKAS)  and they show up very nice
except the wheel rims will all be one color (sky-blue). Like in the screenshot I posted.
In my version I have now painted the wheel rims a little more dirtier and with weathering on them to look a little darker.

Just a small update + tip if you have not done already in your game.

If you are using this mod.... Junkers Ju-188 (beta 1.1 version) - https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,26335.0.html
In your mod folder (PA_Jeronimo Better Wheels) with the airplane names, create a new folder named " JU188beta "

...then go and copy everything that is inside the folder named "Ju-88A-4", and paste it into the new JU188beta folder.
You should now have all nice round wheels for this Luftwaffe bomber mod  ;)  It does looks much  better than before.

I must be particularly dumb. Or my browser misses links. Or this thread is constructed in a confusing manner.

I can't find a link for the British stuff (as apparently required for a Fairey Battle mod). When I click the "All in one" link at the bottom of the first post, this points to a mod about covering just P-80 and F9.

Why not put in the first post a list of all individual mods, and an all-in-one job, unambigously laid out and identified?
