Just something I noticed the game was missing. Now you can use colored smoke for marking targets or friendly units.

Could you add yellow and blue lights also? Since we have white green and red?

this mod uses same .ini lines as this:
http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=29391 (http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=29391)
is there a way these both could work
-
I'll see about changing the names and adding a couple of more colors. No reason they both can't work, I don't think...

Thanks mate for your kindness!!!

When I say ini lines i mean the number (the part at the end smoke: 16,17,18,19). i tried changing number but it did not work

The 'work' is done by the class files...change the smoke position need their modification...
-
Yes the problem is that both mods use classfiles with the same name. The order of the numbers shouldn't matter so I can probably just call them SmokeRed, SmokeBlue, etc...

Updated - see above :D

Thanks very much :) ;) :D ;D 8)

Thanks for have updated such wonderful mod!
Here is the color code used by German employing smockes for visuals communication:
German Color Smoke meaning:
- Orange - Friendly troops here (orange was also used for distress signals)
- Orange-red - We are isolated/cut off/the enemy is behind us
- Orange-green - repeat your attack
- Green - Increase range of action/we are advancing/attacking/making contact
- Red - the enemy is attacking/infiltrating/penetrating
- Red-Green - the enemy is attacking/encircling on our right
- Red-White - the enemy is attacking/encircling on our left
- Violet - enemy tanks ahead
- Violet-Red - enemy tanks in our rear
- Violet-Green - enemy tanks to our right
- Violet-White - enemy tanks to our left
- Violet-Orange - Friendly tanks are going into action (to warn off friendly aircraft)
All the best!

Hello gents, this is off topic, but hopefully not too much: I'm searching for a way to add white airshow engine smoke to my F-86s. Any help appreciated, thanks a lot!
Carry on.. ;)

Im using mod activator 2.1

You need to place the mod itself in the "MODS" folder.
You then need to add the lines if any to the relevant files located here:
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 SAS\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects

~S~
I put this smoke mod in the files as per say by the read me. However
when I check for them, they do not show up at all.
What can or shall I do?. I am using the SAS Modactartor 2.72 and
the SAS object files, also updated the buttoms to 8.2.
Thank You
-
Did you add the lines in the technics.ini?
-
~S~ Checkyersix
Yes I added it to the technics and stationary.ini and they do not appear
in the stationary objects at all. I just have the smoke that was already
in the stationary objects. Should I try and reinstall the smoke mod again?
Thank You
-
Yes try re-installing it...
-
~S~ Checkyersix
I tried and reinstalled the smoke mod, still no luck. I still get only smoke that
is already in the stationary objects. I put the lines in both and saved, still
no go. I am using the 4.10.1 with the SAS Modactator 2.72, with the SAS
Object Files and up-dated buttoms 8.5.
Any suggestion.
-
~S~ Checkyersix
I tried the smoke mod in HSFX 5.0.1 and it works. Now I like to know why
the smoke mod dose not work with the 4.10.1 with the SAS Modactator 2.72.
Like I said I have the SAS Object Files install and have the SAS Buttom ud dated
to the 8.5.
-
............I have the SAS Object Files..............
In that folder there are another static.ini files that is loaded before the one in the STD folder!
You should add the entry on the .ini files of the SAS Object folder!
If it work a better solution to avoid further trouble 'll be move them from such folder to STD folder (don't overwrite before the back up of the whole STD folder for insurance)
