Title: Return to Default Sounds SFS format v2.1 ~ 20 Sept 2010 [4.09] [4.10]
Post by: SAS~CirX on November 18, 2009, 07:04:55 AM
(https://storebror.it.cx/sas/archive/sasdl/sound/woodyhurri222.jpg)

This is for users of SAS buttons, who wish to have default sounds (the sounds that came with your game). Users of UP and HSFX can also use this if they like.

This is the same SFS archive as the one in the SAS ModAct 2.3 Beta.

To use this, put the file called fb_hfxsounds.sfs into your game's main folder (where your IL2fb.exe is)
And put the .rc file in the files folder, into your game's files folder.

If you already have such a .rc file in your files folder, then dont replace it, as you are either a user of UP or HSFX , or the SAS Complete SFS soundpatch v2.0.

Users of UP2.1, can download this and replace the fb_hfxsounds.sfs file in their \jsgmemods\00_Default_SOUNDS, after which they can enable it through JSGME.

Remember, any presets of wav files you have in your FILES or MODS folder will override the ones in this archive, just like the the stock game.

Changes to v2.1 :

Fixed previous errors for Spitfire, P-51, P-39, P-40, Tempests, TBM, ect  which previously mistakenly used 109 sounds, and other file mistakes.
Includes 10 seconds wingfold patch for users of SAS patches for tiger33 mod.

Files/presets/sounds/.. generates a Timeout = 0
Just the same as if installed in Mods folder ...

All my squad is praying for Charlies goodness ...  ::) :-\ ;) :(
But I'm not sure if the generated SFS will pass the CRT2 test ?

Sorry, just hang back with the v2.0 download, there is an error we are looking at in it, a missing file.

2.1 will be the one. Bear with me for a day please  :)

Works like a charm with UP 2.01
In addition it's CRT2 compliant (I joined Spits vs 109  ... ) that's great !

A big thank to you Charlie and CirX !

Just a little (and last) request : How to get rid of the structure cracking ??
This little crack is getting on my nerves .... :P I really can't stand it !
ohhh my god ;D

to get rid of that will once again require an edited presets file which will may once more break your crt2. One can probably never make a soundmod like this that will make everyone happy.

The cockpit noises is for future compatibility I think, with Tiger's mod, for HSFX4.2.

Nevertheless, I will see what can be done....

Perhaps we can find an easier way to do this. You say you pass CRT2, and you guys use mods, right? If one was to place a wav sample in your files folder, that should not break CRT2 should it? I dont know, I never fly online, so you guys have got to test it.

I know which sampel is causing this problem, so I am going to make it very soft, inaudible, and you must put it in your files folder, Files/Samples/Stress.wav

See if you can pass CRT2, let me know.

Good idea ! cool for Offline or non CRT2 servers ...
Unfortunately the Stress.wav is not CRT2

Thanks for having reedited Files/Samples/Stress.wav
I rearranged it with Audacity (completly inaudible now...)

On another hand I do understand it's not possible to make a different repack for each pilot !
Glad to see you 're always there to help anyway !!
Thanks again mate !  ;)

I have chatted to Charlie about that stress sound, and he will do an updated version soon as he can. That sample, as well as another breathing sound "slipped through the cracks"

Charles has been veru quiet except for a few PM's. I think at this stage he is waiting for 4.10 before finalising this patch.(this version you have is actualy from HSFX 4.2 beta2)

In fact the end of the year should be the crossroad of many versions !!
So, no problemo we will wait for that

Hope anyway that default Sound will stay "as default as possible" ...

Hey Guys !! How are you ... ?
So many exiting new initiatives and versions in the last 2 months !! Thanks again !

I'm back with my stupid questions  :P
Is this Default Sound pack compatible with UP 3.0 in a CRT2 way ?
If yes (I hope... ) what is the procedure to install it ?

I didn't succeed to activate it #UP# folder mods with JSGME ... :(

Did I not read someplace that the structure cracking sound was an audible indication that you have weakened your airframe by excessive G.  This would allow aircraft airframe failure to happen under less stress in future G maneuvers.
