Title: My new sound
Post by: PumpingNoise on May 27, 2014, 01:40:53 AM
Hi. I'm playing in IL2 and sometimes playing in Warthunder. I like sound in Warthunder. The developers have done a great job and I want to say thank you for this. I have some sound from this game and the problem is that part of this files in a strange format ".celt".Even after searching in the google I can't open this file. Maybe somebody can help me? The archive, which I attached, there are 4 folders. Three of them is in the wav format.(sound, guns, engine) The fourth (ambience) with .celt format. Let's try?
PS. I'm posted only a part. There are negotiations of pilots sounds of tanks etc. If you want, I'll post it.

without a spaces. I'm not allowed to spread links

if I remove the spaces it says invalid or deleted file, mediafire uses these random generated link but the have more then 4 letter random identifiers (example: https://www.mediafire.com/download/skmeoyjs2q0aazk/Tu-95_BETA_v1.7z), the spaces mean that your link was shortened by something, some web forum engines do this when the link is too long to display but not SAS so wherever you find this link go there click it and copy the link directly from the browsers adress bar

Ok, I managed to download them. Normally I can play wav files with Windows Media player or Winamp but not these. I also tried to import them into a free sound editing software called Audacity but with the default import settings I only got a strange noise. Maybe someone else will give them a try.

Possibly you need a special codec to play them. Both the .wav and .celt files seem to be Wave files with a RIFF header.

Can you post the link to this mod? It would be interesting to hear the sounds of "War Thunder" in IL-2! ^^

If so far you're starting, then you're doing an amazing job extracting the sounds! :D

So far all the sounds are great! ^^ And they will compliment the IL-2 game beautifully! :)

Royzewic, if you bothered to read through the post, you would know that those sounds are not suitable for IL-2 in their current format, and the author is looking for help in making them IL2-compatible.
so, they don't go in your game as they are....they areprovided for someone to convert them to IL-2 format.

Hi PumpingNoise,
i suggest making a post in the actual Sounds section about it.
alternatively, i could move this thread there for you, if you prefer. :D

Usually you dont need to change the prs files just replace sample A with sample B.

I recommend 'SAS Gunsound Reference Pack for Soundmodders':

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=3645.0

I was unable to listen to these sounds or open them in an editor (which opens all other il-2 sounds).

I can help with the sound mod. I can make good use out of the presets and samples for a good creation of auditory enjoyment for IL-2 and it's 4.12 custom sound mode.  :)

Though I should warn you, I take a hell of a lot of time modding just the right sound and presets files, mainly because life's keeping me either busy or low on motivation.  :-X

 Thanks for your response
I need time and knowledge for  trying to do it myself. You just need to explain to me on example of one engine, one weapon and a few simple sounds such as: flaps, gear selection, the sound of the wheels of the aircraft on the ground and the creak of the pilot seat. I'll do the rest by analogy. If I have any questions, I'll ask. We will made a great mod!!!
P.S. if I write in "understandable English" so this is translated
my girlfriend, if not - I do not deserve :P ;D

Well, I'm more of a guy that manages engine sounds rather than gun, flaps, and explosion sounds.  :-X

Even so, I will make the most out of the material I've downloaded. :)

Keep posting more links to sound sources so we Sound Modders can get cracking!  :P

Here's an example of what I managed to do with the sound moddding. :) These are sounds for the B-17 and the B-24 bombers.

Unzip them into their corresponding folders and give them a hearing. ^^ Though it only works if you have the 4.12 patch installed.

Awesome. I do have two last requests:
1- Can you do the sound for the landing gear going up and down?
2- Can you do the sound for the bomb bay doors opening and closing?
