Great ! beautiful plane !

Question : in which place should I put the Bomb and Rack folders ?

Also, when launching a mission in QMB, plane crashes after making big jump if it is a scramble mission. If it is an airstart one, it starts with engine off. Normal ?

Thanks 101tfs, Murdoc and Anto!

My Snipe works fine in scramble missions and with airstarts.
The cockpit needs work but other than that its perfect!
Its pretty awesome to go against some Fokker D.VIII's.

This is Awesome! DBW 1916 is just getting better and better with all these new planes coming out. A big thank you to all involved. I know this takes an ass ton of work to create and  import a plane. Thanks to all involved!  :)

Like 101tfs wrote the bomb rack needs java work, I dont think that its part of the plane download (I didnt install it).

101tfs,

I've taken your Sopwith Snipe up for ride, burned two Albatros along the way and made a smooth landing on my return to base. You've done an exceptional job! Thank you for a great addition to DBW 1916 :)!

Gaston, I put bomb and rack files in Sopwih_Snipe/3do/Plane/Snipe.

Also, the skins are provide in a directory called "\Sopwith_Snipe". So, I put that directory in ..\PaintSchemes\Skins. However, when I got into the game, I found no skins available for the Snipe. So, I think the skin directory should be renamed \Snipe. I will try this later.

Cheers,

Riptide

Gaston, I put bomb and rack files in Sopwih_Snipe/3do/Plane/Snipe.

Thanks !

But do you let them in a folder (for example Bomb folder and Rack folder) or do you put them directly in Snipe with the other files ? because in every case, there is a Live.msh file. Which one overwrite ? pardon me if I seem stupid...it would have been better to have all in one downloadable archive only...

Thanks,101tfs. I've just done two single missions for the BE2C. Now, I guess I'll have to do one for the Snipe.

The SKIN folder for any airplane is ALWAYS the first word as it is written in the air.ini file.
In this case it is Snipe.

Sorry to insist, but whatever I do, put the files in the 3do/plane/snipe folder directly, or in their own folders, bombs and racks never appear on my screen... what am I doing wrong ?

Thgis apart, this little plane is a pure charm !

Gaston I don't think your unzipping far enough. When you first download the Bomb&Rack file and open it with 7-zip it gives you two files, both those files are also 7-zip files that have to be unzipped. Then put the unzipped files into the 3do/plane/snipe folder.

Title: Re: Sopwith Snipe Beta
Post by: Riptide_One on November 07, 2012, 05:51:09 PM
Gaston,

After unzipping the bomb and rack, I took the files from the bomb and rack directories and place them directly in the 3do/plane/snipe folder. When asked, I took the overwrite option.

Initially, I had problems with corrupted files. However, when I unzipped with the SoftZipper program, I had no further problems. Note that SoftZipper is available for free.

max_thehitman, thanks for clearing up where the skins should go.

Cheers,

Riptide

Thanks for your time, man.

This is what I did. But what I do not know is if I must let these files in a folder I put inside the 3do/plane/snipe folder or if I just put the files with no folders in 3do/plane/snipe folder. Which surprises me, because there are 2 Live.msh files... so if this is the first option (2 folders in 3do/plane/snipe folder), how must I name them ?
Title: Re: Sopwith Snipe Beta
Post by: Riptide_One on November 08, 2012, 05:59:07 PM
Gaston,

The second option is correct (or at least what I did :)). Put only the files in 3do/plane/snipe folder.

Cheers,

Riptide

Those files are for modders, cant you see the red text?
The plane is unfinished and 101tfs posted the sources for modders to continue.
With other words he would probably welcome some help with cockpit and bombs.

A sight there corrected incorrectly). They just raised the circle to the level where bullets fly. And the opposite is necessary! Put the bullets down. Because it turns out not realistic. There could not be such a sight above the front glass. It would be better to remove this circle altogether and so it is possible to shoot.

Is it possible, then, to remove this piece of iron (sight) forever?  It's better to have no sight at all.
