Wow, awesome! I've seen the Hell over Kursk before but I didnt seem to recall the rest.
I think nowdays the once so active il-2 screenshot-art community is at its all time low so its good to see new stuff.

First I fell in love for the lancaster pic, than for the Spitfire under the bridge, then for the grazing 262, then...so many great pictures.
I have a rule to not put aviation themes in my work lap top screen saver, but I guess I will not resist.

Yes, North Africa bombing mission when it got caught up by attacking luftwaffe aircraft, I have
researched every scene I create. Many books, websites and papers. Although, there seems to be doubts among the
bomber flight crews as if they were Fw-190´s or Me-109´s. Since most of the eyewitnesses have said 109´s I decided
to use that type of fighter.

no doubt about historica research, i've checked the same page after your image :) i've always associate the image to ETO, maybe for many other "close encounters" over germany, but in effect only now i saw the torch markings :)

Those yellow circles around the star-roundels means that Allied aircraft were part of Operation Torch in late 1942.
The USA is probably the only country in WW2 that changed roundels and insignia on their airplanes every year. LOL
They must have had 5 diferent designs alltogether. Perhaps the headquarters wanted the boys to keep busy painting
airplanes when they were not flying. :D
