Didn't know where to post these, so I put em here. I am not a modder, but I really didn't care for the sounds of the choppers that came with em, I found one modification, but it was Waaaaay to loud and chirpy, so I searched my hard drives spanning back 10 years and found some high quality heli sounds for rotor craft, I tried em out and was amazed so I figured I would share em with my pals on the world wide web. Pretty simple to install, just replace the ones in your heli file and your good to go. Be sure to tell me what you think, being it is my first attempt on giving something back to the greatest IL2 mod community in the universe, SAS!!!

Aren't these FSX sounds configured for IL-2? These are the same files as for the R22 in FSX? I guess it does sound a bit better I suppose. Not quite fitting though, IMO.

They may be something close, but I don't have FSX, I do have older versions of the game though, I basically fished these out of my overstuffed external hard drive and tried em in IL2, they sounded better so I passed em along, no big mystery, like I said , sharing with my mates. They are rotor engine sounds, not turbine driven, so why aren't they fitting??

Well, they're more fitting than some others yes, but I mean if you want to be specific, larger helos have a greater volume on the rotor thump sound, etc. What I mean is that larger helos sound much different from smaller ones.

Does anyone have recordings of the S-55's R-1340 in flight? It would be nice to attach real sounds to this model. Same goes for the Bell 47.
