my guess is that the chopper won?

btw, it's like the AI actually "learned" to fly them, at first they were doing dumb stuff and after a couple of minutes of a shootout they actually maneuvered pretty well and evaded some of my flybys  :o

Flakiten, Did you consider the prop pitch to control forward motion? It occurs to me if you angle the prop while hovering it may push you forward a bit, and lessen the pitch you have to apply to your stick to achieve forward thrust. I believe helicopters also operate on the same principle. I do understand this is still a beta download, just was wondering if you had any plans to incorporate the prop pitch, as well as the rudder/aileron commands to trim the chopper. By the way, your mod is a blast, done created 2 missions this evening with her. Thank you so much for the mod!!!

2). The real Sikorsky S-55 has a clutch between the engine and the rotor gear box. The pilot could engage and disengage the rotors. We donĀ“t have this function on il2 so I put an Clutch system that disengages the rotors if your trotthle is bellow the 10%.

couldn't you just set it so that it simulates that using the feather prop key?

Thank you!
Has anyone gotten the skins to show?

one thing i've noticed...don't know if it's supposed to be like that (or maybe just my install) but on engine startup...everything nice...hear the engine coughing and kicking over (as it should) then silence....  this is in UP2.01.  and i hear silence until i increase power to about 4 plus percent...plus.  at that point, full engine sound returns.  reduce to below 4 percent...silence, until back up over 4 plus then engine sound again.

anybody else got this?  or know what it could be?  (i've ran into this before, or something similar in my own mods but don't remember what was causing it or how i fixed it.)

I think this is the "clutch" feature. I put my throttle at 16%, then start. Try that.

BTW, I think with helicopters, you always have to make control inputs in pairs. The rotor controls BOTH lift AND thrust, so to gain one you loose the other, or else you increase the collective (throttle) to make up for it. To go faster, push the cyclic (nose) foreward AND increase collective to maintain altitude, etc.

It doesn't work, and also I am unable to give it a name in plane_ru.properties file.

Hi There,

I know that the Honduras Air Force had two of these awesome whrily birds.

All that I could find so far was that they were painted all white.

Not sure of what markings were on the helicopters.

I'm sure Leone could make some troop support mission on the Central American Map.

Just looking into what countries used these copters.

Again Flakiten and Sani

Thank you.

Does anyone have any info about what a real HRS-3 would do if you exceeded the VNE? I seem to remember reading that with most modern choppers the limiting factor was often roll caused by asymmetric lift, but maybe the Sikorsky was different?

This limitation applies for all normal helicopters. I think that could be done.

Flakiten, Did you consider the prop pitch to control forward motion? It occurs to me if you angle the prop while hovering it may push you forward a bit, and lessen the pitch you have to apply to your stick to achieve forward thrust.

Sani has worked on a collective pass command and he had not good results.

Remember, il2 was not made for helicopters.

Bay door and Nose cone disappears at odd angles. Check LODs.
