I agree with Mr. Obongo - although have never been there, but I think those mountains are too tall for Central America, aren't they?

Ya well you guys go ahead and make another one then pick pick pick.

Go ahead make a 1:1 map with three countries in it.

I did this map for those that were interested in it.

See the Central Amewrica map download link.

The SRTM Data never lies.

You just have to fly through the area with the new (as you can almost fly through a region) google earth version, there are volcanoes etc.

If you want shorter flying times to action this map is about 15 minutes flying time to the dog fight area.

If you want longer boring cup of coffee, beer,LowKow (Thai White Whisky) flying times as they say here in Thailand 'Up To You'

Dont take it wrong men!. Just think the mountains need smoothing. We all appreciate this kind of work!.

I actually had a 1:1 map for this area, but since i still dont know how to assign textures from the DEM thing and do it manually, i dumped it. :D.

This map is a must, unique combats take place here.

Actually, I did not say anything about the map. I was just wondering if there really are so big mountains in Central America. As I had said before, I have never been there so i was just speculating. Did not want to hurt anyone's feelings. In fact I would love to see more Latinoamerican maps being made:-)

For Mr O, No Problem just working on another project all day yesturday.

If you want to texture in Microdem see Kevin P's tutorial texturing in Microdem. You have to have ClockWatchers 16 rgb value file for Microdem.
Kevin P also shows a way of just using 5 rgb values with the same file.
You still have to blend the textures over time to get the right effect.

You can also make lakes and some rivers will come out nicely with some adjusting.

Craken again no problem most of the people that wanted this map thought the mountain chains etc were awesome.  I know you want more interesting areas.

Just a note I've never in my time here critized/offended anyone here as I too know how long projects take to make with life and all.

Mai Bpen Rai  Your welcome in Thai

Try the Central America map download link thread and Leone's QMB missions for it.

Hi, take a look this book, it contains perhaps some more Salvadoran and Honduran planes' colour plates.

Hi Cracken,

A really nice find.

I'm sure I saw a Sikorsky in there.

I've been trying to find the markings for a Honduran Sikorsky.

Still really good find on all the aircraft used during all conflicts in South America.

Cheers Kirby
