Snowy row of trees ?
« on: December 01, 2023, 05:39:18 PM »

Is it possible to make row of trees on winter maps snowy, not just leafless ?
I mean snowy over part of leaves remained.

Of course. It requires only to make a new texture. This can replace the existing object's texture if it's deemed a worthwhile change to apply to all existing useage, or a new object can be made.

I just did a quick experiment, making up a new object from an existing autumn tree line.

In static.ini, search for "treeline", "autline", "rowoftrees".

Use the Il-2 selector in dump mode while placing these trees on a map. The resources to make them will be written inside the dump folder created in your game's main folder. You can do this for other tree objects as well, of course.

Yes, this is precisely what I am searching for, thank you, Frankiek.
Can you give the link to the proper textures, like forest/winter/LWood0.tga, please? And rowoftrees, please?

Hi Uzin

All textures and texts come with Map Building Tutorial v5.
They can be found in Textures Tutorial folder.
But these should already be present in your install.

If you want Row of Trees then you will have to do what WxTech says, aren't they static objects?
