Tachikawa Ki 70 -Clara
« on: July 15, 2022, 04:31:02 AM »

Hallo,
having to spend a lot of time with my current best "friend" SARS ( although in a gold insulation

  ),

 i have thought to realize another lost causes.
So i have found this RECCE plane, a kind of plane not considered by history because of , as my military carrier as taught to me, that all tough and boring work on acquiring information under enemy's threat is on a low level of fame.

But no missions could be realized without infomations and i think that the role of these kind of planes should be emphasized.

However, the fighters are more spectacular so it is easy to have more pleasure on be considered by people.

So, at the end, here some data taken from WIKI.

The Tachikawa Ki-70 "Clara" was a high speed photo reconnaissance aircraft that was tested for the Japanese Air Force in prototype form but never entered production. The Ki-70 was the intended successor to the Mitsubishi Ki-46 but was difficult to handle and was slower than the Mitsubishi Ki-46. The Ki-70 was first flown in 1943 but was found unsatisfactory and the program was terminated. Three aircraft were built.

This is my WIP1 . As always CWatson is supporting me with his competence, experience,elegance and a good quantity of patience.

I hope this plane willl have some roles not only as target. It had to be armed with 2 MGun ; the rear one had an original manouvering system as on pic

The front MGun had to be managed by the observer, but i have not found any pictures concerning it. But we can imagine that  the observer's seat must slide forward to gain fire's position.

But Who can really know?

Best regards to Community.

Hi D,
Well a couple of things.  Firstly sorry to hear about your SARS, hope you're getting over it.  BUT, I'm jealous of what you are looking at out of your front window...grrr!! lol

The Ki-70, great idea and looking very good so far, I like the different and little known ac.  I had a search around for info on the front mg, and nothing I could find, so maybe leave it off the model? And thanks to you and CW.

Cheers

Sad to hear that Dandolo, wishing you a good recovery.

And respect to your workflow still topping such R/L issue.
Glad CW is teaming up with you, that's very good news in the face of sad stuff.
Keep it up

Best wishes

 :D   Excellent choice the "Clara" Dandolo!
Not to brag .. but I have already done the Sars twice and the second I hardly noticed ... and then what envy for your view! From my house I only see the facades of palaces ...!   ;)

Interesting plane.

On an unrelated note, do you plan making Ki-60 for the game sometimes?

Hallo, thanks for attention.
The KI 60 was quite similar to KI 61 Tony

I love KI 61 , my best fighter.

I do not make promises  for 2 choices:
I prefer do not  realize fighters, we have enough on this sim;
I am not wise enough to realize a plane like KI 60.

And  last, my significant another is becoming angry with my hobby... :D :D :D.
But in the future I could try as a challenge with myself.
Have a wonderful summer time.
