Cooling Tower

sry Gents

in the pic ur can see a chimney from Chaes from aviaskins modder they create tschernobyl objekt

i would like to change in paint to cut the black piece to transparent than i have a perfect cooling tower for my oilreffinery

is there a solution

Two ways to do this:

3d - literally modify.
Texture - add transparency to mat file and add alpha to tga file. 

Best way honestly would to be to make it from scratch, very nice tutorial here.

As I doubt that anybody would learn object making for the sake of single object, I ask any kind soul who has proper skills to create it for our community.

Is this new, shorter cooling tower to be a completely standalone object, separated out from this larger complex? Can I make a dedicated texture for only it?

Or is the desire to keep this tower as part of the overall collection of objects that make up this complex, and thereby require to still use the larger texture that applies for all the other buildings and such?

For the top end above the lower conical section, is it to be 'straight sided', as in cylindrical? Or can it have an outward flaring, in the manner of modern cooling towers?

Last, is the tower to have an outer surface of concrete or bricks?


I'll mention in passing that I looked over all the models that make up this complex (except one, which had some problem that disagreed with the mesh viewer utility), and boy, are there al lot of issues with surface normals! Really weird lighting will result.
