I don't really know what I'm doing wrong, I'm following all instructions to the letter and taking care to follow every step as explained in the txt files and dcg itself. I'm using BAT with the 3.50 dcg beta

I try to create an Iwo campaign for the IJA:

1. I open dcg, create a new campaign (auto-generation unselected off course)

2. Go to IL2 and choose the created IWO campaign

3. minimize il2, go back to dcg, choose the squadron, etc

4. select "offline auto-generation"

5. click on generate mission in dcg

6. back to il2, click on start campaign, start mission (always an "armed recon" or "destroy the carriers")

7. mission complete, select "apply" on the postmission briefing (kills etc)

8. the same mission appears again, no time has passed

9. trapped in this cicle forever

It happens with any and every campaign I want to play. Manchuria 45, Okinawa etc. Always the same mission, no time passes etc

as far as I know everything (all the files etc) is exactly where it should be...

I assume you are playing a single player offline campaign.

If that is the case try going to DCG main panel and click "Generate". That should do the trick. The third mission should be auto-generated.

BUT:

Is there a reason why you start a campaign in such a complicated way? The usual way to start a stock DCG campaign is:

1. Make a backup of your Dgen folder in [your_il2_folder] (optional, but recommended)
2. Copy Dgen folder from [your_DCG_folder]/data/ to [your_ il2_folder]
3. Open DCG main panel
4. Select "Replace Career Generator (DGen)" in the DCG main screen
5. Select "Off Line Career (Full Auto-Generation Mode)" in the DCG main screen.
6. Launch IL2
7. Select "Pilot Career"
8. Click "New"
9. Select air force
10. Select rank
11. Select campaign
12. Click "Start"

Multiplayer online campaigns are different animals. IIRC they are not auto-generated, so you should go to DCG main panel an click "Generate"  after every mission (can someone confirm, I'm 100 % offliner)

I was following the instructions in the txt file, now I tried to do just what you suggested and indeed the campaign seems to start but unfortunately in the Okinawa campaign, after the first mission, which usually go smoothly unless it start midair with the engines turned off, my airplanes (ki-21 if I fly JA and the Betty if I choose the IN) get hurled violently into the air or, more rarely, explode directly in the ground (sometimes my betty spawns in the middle of the ocean, tinted purple ), no matter the loadout I choose. I can still advance in the campaign if I get hurled high into the air by bailing out but I'm not sure that's a good solution

I'm using thr 3.50 beta of dcg. I'm pretty sure somehow I'm getting closer to running a smooth campaign and indeed the directions you provided were great but i still need some help

You are experiencing a loadout problem.

DCG tries to load a loadout that does not exist in your IL-2.  That commonly happens with modified Il-2 when playing stock campaigns.

Allpayloads.dcg and Payloads.dcg need an overhaul.

I'll see what I can do.

there's definetely some problem with DCG stock campaigns and BAT, I tried almost all campaigns now without touching anything, just with the original mission planes and default weapon loadouts (I love to try different planes like flying a potez 530 as the  japanese in iwojima but i restrain myself) and my squadron either explodes instantly or spawns in purple in the middle of the ocean.

So far your handmade dcg campaigns work flawlessly, I especially like the Burma one. They just test my cpu to the limit hehe

Torpede_Aeri (and whoever is interested),

download this file: https://www.mediafire.com/file/00wl35a0dxkmbta/IWO_Default_to_BAT.rar/file
and unpack the rar to your DCG/Data folder, overwrite. It updates the allpayloads.dcg & payloads.dcg files and default Iwo campaign should work in BAT. Let me know if it does not!

Note: only affects to Iwo campaign. I'm working on other default campaigns, too, but it may take some time.

Thank you Shakaali!! I tried the update and it works...somehow. The planes don't explode anymore but about 45% or 50% of the time my bettys spawn purple in the middle of the ocean (maybe when they carry bombs instead of torpedoes?  I'm gonna check). It is a pleasure to be able to keep on with the campaign though

Could you post a log from a mission that happens?
