BURMA 1941 - 1945
A Dynamic Campaign for DCG & BAT

"Through festering jungle and across burning plains to high mountains and lazy rivers, the Burma campaign of the Second World War involved the longest retreat in British history, and the longest advance; long-range penetration miles behind enemy lines, vicious hand-to-hand fighting, and the horrors of forced labour"

This looks great. I like the way you are having the squadrons get plane upgrades as the campaign progresses.

Really impressive stuff! Burma during WW2 is an interesting but often neglected theatre of war. It was here that the Japanese actually held their position in the aerial war the longest.

Thanks!  :)

Thanks, guys  :)

While doing backround research for this campaign, I ran into some pretty interesting and unusual facts that took place in Burma front.

December 1941 RAF was in desperate need for fighters.  No. 5 Squadron RAF was still waiting for Mohawks. They were ordered use their Audaxes as fighters... Luckily for them first Mohawks arrived just in time.

No. 17 Squadron RAF arrived just when the first attacks happened and some pilots had to scramble within hours of their arrival. Later on their base was stormed by Japanese ground troops. Pilots had no choice but to fly their precious Hurricanes away while the ground crew were forced to make their own way to safety.

January 1945 Anglo-Indian troops captured Myinmu. The last Japanese survivors drowned themselves in the Irrawaddy River to avoid capture.

Shakaali, thanx for sharing that bit of info.  I must agree...Burma...hmmm.  Many years ago, I was doing research to make the squad level battles in '41-42 Burma for the "Campaign Series", "Rising Sun".  While doing the research, I was directed to people, which directly led me to meeting the "Burma Star Assoc.".  I think they're still up, who knows...but the fight in Burma is quite overlooked in terms of replication by WWII buffs.  It was quite a brawl.  Air wise...I agree...it was an interesting fight, for an historical enthusiast...as was, ahem...the entire airwar in China, for that matter.  Anyway thanx so much for this.  Cheers and prost.

Good stuff, indeed.  It's good to see your Part 4 for Meiktila and Mandalay.  That time period has been neglected.  Sadly, I never got around to doing a cmpgn for 1945, but it is a very interesting series of military events.
Thanks for making this!

Minor bug spotted in subcampaign 1. :-[

A misplaced static seaplane at Ye Seaplane Base made AI piloted Kawanishi H6K's collide when taxiing after landing.  Corrected in download files.

I am unable to get this thing working. I have DCG 3.5. I have a working version of Red Core. Have the BAT DCG Compatability mod installed.

When I generate the campaign and start ANY mission, everything just spawns on top of each other and blows up at the start. Not quite sure what is going on.

I did notice at the start of any campaign I generate it states I am missing air.HartMercury and the air.P18 will replace it. Assuming I am missing a plane type.

I can't seem to find any fix for the planes spawning on top of one another but for a brief second my plane is facing nose down into the ground then boom, entire runway and all planes on it blow up.

I am using your recommended DCG settings as well. Any clues as to what could be causing this?

Note that this is the only DCG campaign I have installed. I literally have a fresh install of Red Core/DCG 3.5/DCG Compatibility Mod. No other mods.

Thanks,

Prog

Oops, I seem to have error in campaign requirements. 4.1.1. update is required, because Hart/Audax is not in 4.0. Corrected in the first post. Sorry!

Please update to BAT 4.1.1 and try again. If the problem persists, post the log here.

Will the log file also tell us what is causing the planes blowing up immediately? That would be pretty handy. Will update now.
