Battle of Jarama 1937 - SCW campaign for TGA!
« on: May 23, 2020, 05:05:22 AM »

This one has undergone some revisions and fixes, and now it is ready:

The Battle of Jarama (February 6–27, 1937) was an attempt by General Franco's Nationalists to dislodge the Republican lines along the river Jarama, southeast of Madrid, during the Spanish Civil War. Elite Spanish Legionnaires and Moroccan Regulares from the Army of Africa forced back the Republican Army of the Centre, including the International Brigades, but after days of fierce fighting no breakthrough was achieved. Republican counterattacks along the captured ground likewise failed, resulting in heavy casualties to both sides.

By the end of February the front lines had stabilized, with both sides consolidating and fortifying their positions to the point where no useful assault could be undertaken. Nationalists and Republicans alike had suffered very heavy losses (some 20.000 to 25.000 each). In addition, their troops were exhausted and low on ammunition and food.

Although the Nationalists succeeded in crossing the river and resisted all efforts to dislodge them from their footholds on the other side, the Madrid—Valencia road remained out of reach and firmly in Republican hands. The battle was noteworthy from the perspective of the aerial war over Spain, as it was the first time that the Republican air force managed to control the air.

You can download it here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=2010

Included are 2 Republican campaigns that try to portray the aerial fighting during the Battle of Brunete in 1937. These are
•   One for the I-15 “Chato”
•   One for the Dewoitine D.372

Although these two campaigns are essentially variations of the same one, they all make use of Checkyersix’s GREAT Command & Control Mod with a number of randomizers, which means that many times the time of day and the weather, the skill and composition of the opposition will vary, even if you replay the same mission!

Included is a skin pack of 12 SCW skins used in this campaign, and made by the following great skinners: Archie, Murdoc, Mangas, Tchaika, Mission_Bug and H-K. Thanks guys for your super work - without skinners no campaigns!

Note that this is what I a call a "basic conversion" to BAT. Everything works 100%, but there is no "taxi-to-takeoff". (I will do that too, eventually. But right now I have started working on a couple brand NEW campaigns, so I've taken this short-cut.)

Some shiny screenies here:

Thanks for looking!  :)
