Actually I had those DLL already in my game so I just put in the folder with the plates...just drop that one into your module folder where you want those plates show up (WAW3, etc...);
If you have a modded mapmods folder with additional textures in, make sure to have the carsmaster folder load before the mapmods folder...theoretically you can merge the carsmaster folder with the mapmods folder but I have not tried that as I  have two more carsmaster mods in and Iike to keep overview of what's in my modded modules :)
Together with the new reshade the results are really nice :)

Griffon, thanks. My original problem was that I had initially and randomly selected a Slovakia Map that had a grass airfield but with no grass runway placed on the map. So even with the 2017 .dll in place and the mod (in my case) merged directly into the Mapmods - no runway, no effect. Once I chose a map with a legitimate grass runway the effect appeared - and it is a nice effect in BAT 3.8.3.  Next time I will read the author's description more carefully, as Carsmaster did say: "designed for a better visual perception of standard ONLY GROUND runways"

I had the same "problem" initially but when I chose one of the ETO maps and went flying around a little (a little bit feeling like in FS series from MS) I found some nicely enhanced airfields then ;)

These are great textures that really give a real sense of grass in the scene, thank you very much, really appreciated. 8)

So far I have only tried the original you posted, nothing since and the first time I tried it there was a flickering in the scene that looked odd, however, I tinkered around with my settings and that settled down thankfully. ;)

The only downside to these is that the remainder of the airfield looks a little bare alongside the runway due to the separate textures used off the actual runway, nevertheless a great effect.

TexCompress = 0  (As far as I can remember this was set at something else, maybe 2, it has already been pointed out though so nothing of my doing)

I very rarely mess with the config because I do not understand most of it, usually I will only alter what is recommended when installing something new like this so rely on the author and the experiences of others to help me enjoy the changes. ;)

To improve this  need to change a lot.


Yes, that would entail altering every texture in the game I would think because your airfield textures can and most likely will be used by someone on every map in the game, not to mention it could be difficult for most machines to run, this is certainly a major upgrade in itself so very welcome as it is.  8)

Dear Carsmaster can I suggest to tone down the green colour of the grass in order to better merge with the surrounding meshes that seem always to be of a duller green? Do you think this could help a bit? Just a suggestion mine, I think that the improvement is already great!

Different maps have different textures.
It is impossible to guess the color of the grass.
Each user can make any color for himself using GIMP.

Edit:
Airfields by default look scary, dirty, blurry. They are equally bad! Look at all the cards.
We just got used to the fact that on all the cards we have the same bad ones!
Equally bad airfields are suitable for all maps precisely because they are terrible.
In order to have a combination of colors, you need to make your airfields for each maps.
