well, hell, that went south for someone pretty quickly.
i guess that'll happen if you want to accuse a forum of attacking other sites.
that IS pretty rude.

Actually it would help a lot if people could just stick to horse sense.
And if they don't have the slightes clue of how the internet works (apart from being able to download porn), why not just STFU?
Children should be seen and not heard.

There is no attack against FreeMopping.
There is no attack against Patrulla Azul.
There is no attack against SAS.
No hacking. No hate. No evil people with sinister ambition.

All there is to it, is an increase in the number of bots/spiders/website crawlers (call it what you like) indexing our sites to get their content fed into the grid of certain search engines.
Some sites can cope with that, others can't.

That's it - end of story.

As someone that has been in cybersecurity for over 20 years, I can say it is not unheard of for a single website to go down so much.

Any device with a public-facing IP address is usually scanned by some automated method within minutes of coming online. That's why they say change your default passwords first.
Sometimes automated, non-hostile scanning can overwhelm a server if it wasn't designed for lots of traffic/connections.

Could be a coding error, could be a server misconfiguration, a missing patch that's being exploited, the hosting provider has inadequate DoS protections... lots of reasons.

If it is an attack, the hosting provider would most likely have the attacking IP blocked at the L3 router and protect their clients  (assuming it's not a massive botnet attack from multiple IPs). Hosting providers know having their clients knocked offline repeatedly is bad for business.

The point is, it happens. Even though I've never met anyone from this site in person, I don't think anyone here would orchestrate a botnet attack to commit a Federal offense against a single website.

*If you want to see a really cool graphic of all Denial of Service Attacks happening right now [https://www.digitalattackmap.com] is worth a look. These attacks are 24/7.

Why should we?
It's just some weirdos trying to stir the pot when they pretend that it'd be us.
We must be fucking awesome that those guys have nothing else but SAS in mind, nevertheless... no attacks, no hacking, no evil people and definitely no SAS involved in any of this, so: No blacklisting.
Regardless how much a few weirdos repeat their weird fantasies.

Sorry guys i had no intention to create a furore simply asking whether the site was down AGAIN! They just seem to gather a lot of adversity and have my sympathy however its caused. Gotta say i am completely shocked by stevens comments where did that come from!!!!!

I don't have the slightest idea but whatever it was, he's got time to reconsider now.

By the way at the moment they seem to be up again, but even with less than 100 bots on their site, both Patrulla Azul (who is hosting the FreeMopping forums) and FreeMopping themselves are horribly slow.
Hard to guess why from outside.
Could be a general server issue (database needs maintenance, hardware is simply too weak, updates missing, ...), could be anything else.
The one thing I can say for sure is that it ain't "us", but in the same way you can be sure that the next weirdo will come around quickly and blame it on us 8)

This means these are your words...
I DON'T GET THIS WHY DO THIS ATTACK, why lose another modding site some hateful asshole probably someone for SAS I bet . I have never known a modding community to fight so much between yourselves, maybe I should go to.
...and despite being asked for, you neither care to elaborate nor to take back this completely unfounded and rude accusation.

Seems you need some time to cool down and reconsider.
Two weeks Observer status for you.

I only just now read this thread. For what it may be worth, it was my fairly firm impression that Steven's post was entirely a quote by the other site's admin. In spite of his not-so-clear indication, due, I presume, to english not being his native tongue.
