Using default skins as custom skins
« on: June 10, 2019, 12:31:24 PM »

I tried extracting default aircraft camo's from 4.07 to use them as custom skins in a newer version. However this is not working. Is it even possible? I followed this

and ended up with this

Any help is appreciated

Between the 407 and 409 the FW-190s were handled in various Mods (e. g. Claymore Pack 190).
And I'm not talking about the 410/412 versions (e. g. Pack Barnesy and others)!
All these changes probably explain your problems.

Does that apply to 109's as well? The older 512x512 default custom skins from 4.07 are still working. Yet that method doesn't give any  results either

Perhaps you missed vpmedia guidelines:

However, keep in mind that a few models were changed by TD after 4.07 (e.g.: Ju 88).

... what your FW190 screenshot shows at M4T looks like a mapping problem, most probably due to a new 3D ...  ;)

When you try using skins, originally made for a certain 3D, on another 3D, you get mapping discrepancies, and I am afraid there's nothing you can do about it ...  :-[
