I got my Great Battles copy recently. Do I need to actively download and install their patches or will they be pushed down to my system?

If you have the Steam Edition, it will be updated automatically.
Otherwise go to IL-2's "game/bin" folder and run "launcher.exe", it will automatically update your game then.

If you have any mods enabled, it's advisable to disable them before running the installer.

The devs released a hotfix for Patch 3.101 today.
Unfortunately they once again didn't consider this worth an official announcement, the news is hidden in the patch discussion thread.
No biggie for Steam Users who get the hotfix automatically, but others (Players and Server Operators) have to run the Launcher manually in order to get the hotfix.

The new AI updates are a really welcome addition hope to see more of them. Games actually playable in singleplayer now.
