Back At Modeling After Decades M-41 Walker Bulldog WIP
« on: May 16, 2019, 12:40:59 AM »

Well,

Here are the beginnings of a resent stash

Am keen on 1/48 prop/jet aircraft Vietnam war Air America etc.
1/32  Japanese aircraft and aircraft used by Thailand up until the 50s or so all prop
1/35 Lorean War Armor, etc.

My first build soon a WIP (Once I get some new glasses to be able to see what I am doing ha ha)

M 41 Walker Bulldog

Can easily have a discussion about this tank serving in The Korean War or not. I have a couple of sources that say it did
Chime in with your 2 cents.
Build process shortly  :o 8)

Watching lots of videos things have definitely changed regarding modeling decades ago.

From my understanding, it was first known as a T 41, not an M 41.
The US Army took them straight from the factory to South Korea with no testing.
Have a couple of links and some information about this but very little

The M41 in action
By 1953, the M41 was first deployed in Korea, in first numbers. Known as the T41, it was deployed apparently without proper gunnery training and a troublesome rangefinder. These issues were addressed later. However, it performed much better, as intended, than the M24 facing North Korean and Chinese T-34/85s. In 1961, 160 were passed onto Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in addition to the local Type 61.

Searching for differences between T 41 and M 41 really difficult

Cheers,

The turret is almost complete
Putty up the seam on the gun barrel and sand it all smooth
Add on on the fiddly bits, handrails, hooks, machinegun, commander's hatch, etc.

Ready for painting

I got my airbrush cleaning supplies so can experiment with the airbrush soon.
Have been watching loads of youtube videos especially for priming and color modulation.

Hope Mr. Malone is watching this thread
I know he likes armor kits
This one is straight out of the box. :D :)

Hi Max,

I scored a Tamiya 1/35th old school Centurian kit from a local online shopping site of all places.
My interests lie in the Korean for Armor and vehicles etc.  ;D
Aircraft prop/jet Vietnam and Air America  :D

I've got a great model shop in Bangkok, excellent mail order service and he can get what you really want.  ;D

coming next week
1/48 Revel A-26 Invader ( CIA Air America)
1/48 Trumpeter A-37 Dragonfly
1/32 Kittyhawk T 6 Texan for Thailand.

After I complete the M=41 will build 1/32 scale Hasagawa Ki 43 Oscar in Thai tiger camo.

Cheers,
Kirby
