No bullet casings after installing BAT
« on: May 13, 2019, 11:09:44 PM »

I recently downloaded the BAT mod along with all the patches excluding the 3.61 patch and I noticed that ejected bullet casings seem to be missing from the game (for WAW). I was wondering if there is a way to activate this. Thanks in advance!

I'm including a picture to show what I mean by ejected bullet casings

I can't seem to find the thread. Would it be possible for you to tell me how to install this?  :)

There is an SFS file that has been around for ages (check the JSGME options in Modact 5.3, CUP, etc), called "FX Small Collection" and, as far as I am aware, it is included in BAT.
This "Small Collection" file, amongst other things, replaces ejected shell casings with smoke. I, personally, always disable/delete it, because I prefer the shell casings. I don't miss losing the other effects which, if memory serves me correctly, have something to do with the damage effects of the planes.

I can't seem to find the file, would it be alright if you point me towards it?  :)

Have a look in BatMods (which is what used to be called JSGME Mods) - Also check the SFS Auto folder - there may be another copy there. If you have enabled it in BatMods then simple disable it through JSGME. If there is a copy in SFS Auto then simply put a minus sign "-" before it and it will be disabled.

By the way, you can also try the "Gun Shells back" Mod. Unzip with 7zip and just drop the unzipped folder into in the #WAW3 folder

This method seems to work the best, bullet casing seems to be back for wing mounted machine guns but the cannons shell casings are still MIA.

Hello NoobyGreenTurtle,

unzip this 7zip-file and put the mod (the unzipped folder as it is) in your (whatever) modsfolder.

Hi bombkiller, this method seems to work, sort off... The casings for the machine guns are back but wing mounted cannons such as the ones seen on the Spitfire are still smoke. I extracted using winrar and this was the result.
