New F1M2 in BAT 3.6.1

The new F1M2 is more beautiful and detailed than the previous F1M Pete.
Thanks so much for it.

But there are two things that would be great to fix.
Firstly, there are two gunsights on the external view.



Secondly, please, make the F1M2 a fighter by AI behavior as in old F1M-Pete mod (v. 2.5, not in BAT).
The Japanese often used F1M2 as a fighter to cover the convoys.
Earlier (used the F1M-Pete (v. 2.5) mod with HSFX) I made several missions where the F1M covered the Tokyo express.
And now AI F1M2 just fly past enemy aircraft and ask for help...

In conclusion, please, explain to me what a FieldMod is? ls it 20 mm rear gun like in old F1M-Pete mod?
And did I understand correctly that the gunner is not playable?

This model is from IES Team and is indeed much more beautiful 3D.
Yes, there is no gunner position, as IES Team mods mostly do not come with gunner cockpits.

Maybe SAS~Epervier sees this and takes up your suggestions.

3D problem in external view!
Indeed there is a 3D problem.
I have the impression that these two parts are the cylinder heads of the two engine hood machine guns.
Unfortunately these parts are part of the CF_D0 mesh!
In this case, a 3D specialist is required to correct this error.

Aircraft characteristics!
The F1M is a reconnaissance aircraft (typeScout in Java code).
However, it also has the hunter option (TypeFighter in Java code).
I tested it in a small quick mission.
The F1M behaves like a hunter in this mission.
Certainly he will have little chance of succeeding... unless he has a good pilot.

Conclusion!
No particular remarks. Everything works fine in 4.09 !

Indeed there is a 3D problem.

I suppose that old F1M-Pete had only TypeFighter...
Because they engaged any enemy aircrafts without my orders and never requested the assistance when detected enemy fighters (I tested it in QMB and FMB in HSFX 7.03 and SASModact 5.30)...

When I tried to use F1M-Pete which is in earlier BAT 3.5 Musketeer i had the same problems as with new F1M2 in BAT 3.6.1.
In BAT AI engaged any enemy aircrafts only after my orders and requested the assistance when detected enemy fighters...
So, I suppose that TypeScout in Java code was added in BAT to F1M and previously earlier F1M-Pete v. 2.5 mod did not have this type. It's right?

And please, explain to me what a $default(FieldMod) is in F1M2 Loadouts? ls it 20 mm rear gun like in old F1M-Pete mod?

Ok.
I installed new F1M2 from here http://www.mediafire.com/file/1uup0pew04bqjuu/Mitsubishi+F1M2+Pete+v8.7z in BAT 3.6.1 as separate mod.
So, now I have two planes in my air.ini: F1M-Pete (default in BAT 3.6.1) and F1M2 (from separate mod) and accordingly two planes in my plane.properties: Mshi F1M2, 1941 (default in BAT 3.6.1) and  F1M2, 1940 (from separate mod).
When I tested them in QMB, F1M2, 1940 from separate mod engaged the enemy as a Fighter without any problems !
The default BAT Mshi F1M2, 1941 still acted like a Scout.

Conclusion!
No particular remarks. Everything works fine in 4.09 !

If you tested it in 4.09, so your F1M installed as separate mod. Right?
I suppose that there is TypeFighter in java code of F1M separate mod.
And that's why everything works fine for you.
While TypeFighter is missed in the BAT java code ...

So far I am not able to use the class resolver to see the contents of the class files...
But I found Decompiled Classes of BAT Expansion Pack 12 "World at War" here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,39674.msg331524.html#msg331524
There are two java files for this plane: F1M.java and Pete_v1.java.
In Pete_v1.java I found this line: public abstract class Pete_v1 extends Scheme1 implements TypeSailPlane, TypeScout
In F1M.java I found this line: public class F1M extends Pete_v1 implements TypeSailPlane, TypeScout, TypeDiveBomber
I did not find any TypeFighter in both files...
Maybe this is the problem?

It complicates your story.
In the archive you mention, I see that this version is declared this way:
- TypeScout, TypeSeaPlane, TypeFighter, TypeStormovik

If you add an External Mod, do not forget the order in which the folders are loaded.
Since you're talking about BAT, I don't know the names of the standard folders used by this pack!

   implements com.maddox.il2.objects.air.TypeScout, com.maddox.il2.objects.air.TypeSeaPlane

the mod was taken straight from your download in the Skunk Works. So maybe the Fighter was only added at a later stage by IES?
all we did was the Seaplane/Sailplane fix for 4.12

Big thanks for quickly fixing the F1M2 class in V 3.6.2.
It works perfectly!
You make the game better and better!

I hope one day the 3d model (the gunsight and a little visual bug on rear of fuselage) will also be fixed.
