EDIT: the game now loads with the F-14 but i get the FMB bug

F-14 is no longer crashing the game at 60% load but when i go to check the "player" box in the FMB it gives me that bug where it copies the UI in the center of my screen without crashing the game. Has anyone found a fix to this FMB bug yet? it doesn't crash the game so i don't know if a log will help but here is one anyways.

F-14 doesn't use button file.

Your CTD comes from another reason.

You didn't install the F-14 mod correctly (in this case you didn't even just extract it's files right):

edit: no full quotes!

I am by no means pulling anyone's leg. I am genuinely lost in this. I extracted the original file with 7zip as was recommended. I just didn't know where to extract it so i put it in its own new folder and copied the contents into the MODS folder in the IL2 root. was i supposed to extract the folder right into the MODS folder? or in the main root file??

Assuming you're using BAT 3.5 (this is BAT tech help section, and support is about the last version) you should not have a MODS folder but #JTW3 folder. That's where the folder with the F-14 files should be in. Just to be sure of what we are talking about. Now, let's hope that you had a working BAT 3.5 game before trying to add the F-14 mod in it  :-|

Have you installed :
- Jet Era v1.33 or later
- SAS Common Utils
- WEAPONS PACK VER. 1.3
- SAS Engine MOD 2.8.11 western (or later)
- Weapon pack Generation 2016-iii (22/Jan/2019 or later)
- Jet Pit Common materials (18/May/2018 or later)

I do have 3.5. do i put the folder anywhere specific in the JTW folder, or do i just plop it in there?

isn't all of that included with the latest version of BAT? ive seen comments saying the F-14 works fine with BAT ( I have 3.5)

You'll have to check the BAT3.5 manual about JTW content ; but, as BAT 3.5 was released on November 18, 2018 I see at least one required mod in the list that could not be included.

Yes it is. The F-14 works in BAT without any additional packs.

basically, you need to read up on how to install mod aircraft in the first place, it seems.

Plop it in your #JTW3 folder but be careful with multi-folder hierarchies:

#JTW3/F-14_V1.0_20190123/F-14_V1.0_20190123/mod files >> NOT OK
#JTW3/F-14_V1.0_20190123/mod files >> OK

If your BAT v3.5 is unaltered, you are good to go. If you added more mods or changed BAT in any way, you better re-install the last expansion.

Remember to add the relevant air.ini entries.
