Bat won't run windowed

Hi folks:

First off - great job!  Really enjoy the BAT mods.

Executive summary:  When I launch IL2 from the launcher, it opens a windowed version of IL2 with a white background for a few seconds and then the window closes without running IL2 further. 

Details:

1) I had an older install of Steam IL2 1946 and installed BAT, Checkpoint Charlie, and Operatiion Sealion.
2) I had previously been able to use IL2 in VR, but I had to run it in windowed mode (not a problem since I was using the HTC vive anyway).
3) After installing the indicated BAT mods, I was able to run IL2 in full screen mode and verify Dawn of Flight and other packages successfully.
4) But, when I tried setting IL2 to windowed mode within IL2, it would put the game into windowed mode with the window asking if I wanted to keep the settings.  A few seconds after that, the game would exit and when I restarted it, it was back to full screen mode.

5) So, I uninstalled IL2 1946 and deleted the game folders and reinstalled it from Steam. I then started the game and successfully set it into windowed mode and flew a mission to verify it worked. 
6) I then installed BAT, Checkpoint Charlie and Operation Sealion (remember, the stock game was in windowed mode before the install).
7) When I tried to launch the game from the launcher, it would open a windowed version of IL2 with a white background for a few seconds and then the window closes without running IL2 further.

8) I searched this site and didn't find anything for this issue.  I've also turned on the log files and will post them in the next post below.

So, any ideas of what to do?

Well, well...
Best would be to proceed to BAT 3.5 Musketeer because that one comes with "InstantLog" mod integrated.
That way we will get the full log.lst file and then maybe we can see what's going wrong.

Other than that: Sure that 1024x768 pixel was the resolution you wanted to have?

I only thought this was necessary if the log file would be truncated.  Also, I have no idea what parts of the log are relevant.

Any ideas about what is wrong?  How do I manually change the config.ini to go back to the full screen mode (assuming that it will run)?

Do you have the modpack installed on the 4.12 game version?
Are you using a 1024*768 screen with a GTX 1070?
Is your game located in the Program files folder?

There's your problem nofarb: You have used the wrong base game version. BAT needs 4.12.2.
