I am trying to run the Short in BAT 3.5 and have the problem that on airstart AI always has engine OFF. No turning prop, no engine, no engine sound. They glide down to the ground.

player A/C (and all AI aircraft in its flight too) has engine on when airstarting.

Is this known?

Hmmm...curious

In QMB BAT Musketeer I can fly all six models at once 1000mtr alt Gallipoli map
Engines on, props spinning, engine sounds etc
Principal a/c (pilot) on Autopilot descends at approx 1mtr a second
Remaining 5 models descend a lot quicker and make good landings on water.....

As I noted above in 4.12 the Short doesn't seem to want to maintain altitude, I noticed the strange blipping/ descent action when running long FMB missions at double/ quadruple speed

Many thanks for looking into this Vamps  :)

Cheers

Just been doing a few tests myself and I will certainly have to take a look at what is going on, really is porked. o_O

I did a air start in QMB and while the engine was on I experienced a CTD, this has happened before with other aircraft and seemed to have something to do with engaging other aircraft, usually it would happen to fighters, this is a bomber and as far as I remember no Sturmovik duties applied in the class that could make it want to fight something.

The engine is a major problem, a pair with torpedo will not get around the Gallipoli map from a scramble, bombed up will just make it but loosing height, both tests with the gunner.

Maybe more power to the engine would help but that usually brings claims of giving the aircraft advantages it should not have but it has been found necessary to get seaplanes airborne before although we do not want instances where it might keep pace with a F-14, that would raise eyebrows. :D

The torpedo could be swapped for the lightest available in game irrespective of nationality, anyone able to tell me what that might be please?

Anyway, I will have to investigate.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

to be perfectly clear: AI only flights are showing the engine off behaviour!

The player flight itself does not, no matter if player or AI wingmen.
