Here is a current project I have been working on over the past 6 months or so.
A lot of research was initially needed for this project
Decent information was hard to find on the net initially

Specific Dates

The Battle Of Attu island 11–30 May 1943
This map starts off at around 1 or 2 months after the battle and the USAAF 11th Air Force and US Navy had established Marsden mat airfields on Attu Island and neighboring Shemya Island

The Bombing Of The Kuril Islands December 1943 until the end of the war 1945
11th Air Force and a US Navy Air Wing

The Invasion Of The Kuril Islands by The Soviet Union August 18 and September 1
Since Japan had already surrendered Japan was caught by surprise. Japan did not know which country was invading their islands at the time.

The Map

In this complete package you get the following
Kuril Islands Attu map
A _Tex folder of new and other textures for the map
A specific sky to place in your main _Tex folder

A Note the main Tex folder should be this
MAPMODS/MAPS/_Tex/KurAttu    .....  and the sky tgas in general _Tex folder



Just so there is no confusion  :D

Other Mods

4.13 Runway plates are included in this package as they have been used for most runways
Please see the file order 3do/airfield/.........
Add the static.ini entries to your static.ini already provided if you do not have the 4.13 plates

SAS Skipper's Maratz gun and Japanese gun.

This mod has also been included for you to install.
The Maratz gun could be used on the cape at the tip of the Soviet peninsula.
The Soviets had a gun battery there.
You could easily place some Japanese guns on the Kuril islands as these islands were heavily fortified.

I read interesting accounts of a half built Japanese airfield on Attu Island I included this field without any taxi ways and parking areas.

I am now in the throws of making a Ventura/Harpoon campaign for it.  ;D :D

ps I haven't had the chance to update my Nvidia driver for awhile. I am always busy when the update driver pop up occurs.
my water has been like that for a while now I feel from not updating my driver need to do it one day.

Fails to load in FMB for me... "it says landscape 'kurillislandattu.ini' loading error at the bottom

running in 4.13.4.

This is the all.ini in the read me

KurilIslandsAttu KurilIslandsAttu/load.ini

There is no hyphen

Don't know were you picked up that

Check the all.ini read me again  ;) :)

Made the map in 4.12 with 4.13 runway plates I don't have 4.13

Have checked and double checked all entries and it still isn't loading...  :( will re-download and re-try.

For reference, i typed it wrong above, but my all.ini was copy pasted directly from your readme.

You should be ok especially having the 4.13 plates already in your game version 4.13

MAPMODS/MAPS/_Tex  folder and KurilIslandsAttu map folder 2 folders? in MAPS

In your main _Tex folder / KurAttu folder and 2  sky tgas

I'll see if anything wrong at all this end

Hey There I see one thing with your folder method comparing my 4.12 to your 4.13

MAPMODS/MAPS/

in MAPS (folder)

3do folder
_Tex folder
KurilIslandsAttu (map folder)
under neath all your map folders

all.ini note pad doc.

That's what I can see MAPS folder is in the wrong place

In _Tex main folder KurAttu textures folder and 2 tgas sky

ps you'll see a foot not in red about this folder placement MAPMODS/MAPS/ _Tex/3do/KurilIslandsAttu (3 folders) in the main post

pps I wouldn't install the 4.13 plates as you should already have them that would cause a double up in your game version

I see what you mean about my folder order. Will correct this and retest

EDIT:

re-installed _ no luck. No idea what im doing wrong. The thing is i install maps all the time with no problems. I DID have the initial installation order wrong but I've corrected it and still nothing.

Installed order is:

MAPMODS / MAPS / _Tex / KurAttu textures folder+2 tgas
MAPMODS / MAPS / KurilIslandsAttu (map folder)
MAPMODS / MAPS / All.ini

Thanks for your patience.

No I didn’t change anything. I simply moved things from the package to the MAPMODS folder as always.

Copy/Pasted the .ini line. It’s exactly as your Readme in my game. Disregard my first poor spelling as I was posting the report from memory.

I’m off to work now, but I’ll tinker with it some more later.

PS: I’ve been assuming that this will work in a clean 4.13.4. Do I need any other maps installed for dependency? I assumed not since you included objects and textures. (Thanks by the way)

One possible item you may need once and perhaps you get the chance to load it just say if it doesn't save missions
Then you'd definitely need the object pack from UP Boomer that is available in sfs format over at M4T if you haven't got that installed already. That is usually a must have for all mod versions

Definitely no reliance on other maps

Also typos can be huge for I see no capital letters in you /load.ini mine has KIA (no pun intended) in my load
typos are a map makers nightmare especially when you can't see it for a day or so then you finally see it.

Other than then that never worked at all with 4.13 always based around 4.12
