Albatros D.II early version in the works
« on: September 22, 2018, 12:08:23 AM »

Albatros D.II early version

I started to learn Gmax over a year ago to be able to make the D.II.

The Albatros D.II was identical to the D.I, except that the top wing was mounted lower and farther forward to improve visibility. The fuselage, engine, and guns were the same. Early models had two radiators low on either side of the fuselage, later models had the radiator mounted in the upper wing.

Modified Albatros D.I
Original Albatros D.I by: OAW~Magpie, Lisek, GIO and Kant.

The centre struts are a modified version from the Albatros D.III
Original Albatros D.III by Magpie, Lisek, Loku, SAS~Anto, Phas3e, Vpmedia, Max the hitman

I have some more fine tuning to do on the model then I'll try to create a new slot for it.
But I haven't done that before...  o_O

Best regards

Cool. Thanks for this. Could you just re-name the Albatros D I slot? Or is it more complicated than that?

Good idea this. Historically, there was almost no discernible performance difference between the two.

Another idea is to make the D2 variant a LOADOUT option. For example D1 would be seen when you fly "Default" and selecting "Albatros D.II" would show the D2 model and cockpit. This would allow mixed flights, and save a slot space in the game?

But im rambling now. Lovely work so far!

I had some problem with the Self stationary plane, but with assistance from SAS~Epervier and Mission_bug it's now working!  :)

I've uploaded the aircraft to my site, but I'll post about that in the WWI section.
