Dear CWatson, dear Henkypenky,
I first installed the complete folder Bombsight fix in my WAW3 folder without success, no bombsight.
Then I replaced the existing lines inside the bomber folder by the two lines included in the bombsight folder. Then I got a bombsight but the elevation works in the wrong direction and the bombsight disappears in the bottom of my screen?
Any help available?
Regards.
Tart

Tart,

Sadly I can not test the 412 version, I use 409 which the bombsight works fine in.  If you are willing to test I can try a couple fixes. If you want to test, please contact me via PM.

Thanks,

Don't know if this is what you mean Tart; flying on autopilot in QMB the crosshairs apear when the plane is more or less stable. When the AI pilot make a manouvre the crosshairs disapear, but show up again when the plane is stable again. Sorry don't know how to work with a bomb sight.

In my game the autopilot disables the bombing sight.
You have to use the "stabilize the plane" button!
In this function only the trimmers are active.
CTRL+R key in my game.

Dear Henkypenky,
I strongly recommend you to try a mission of the Coastal Command over the Gulf of Biscay chasing a submarine with the help of the radar. After a boring flight, you get a warning from the radar, when the object not to far is , you stabilize your plane and jump in the bomber position. With the help of the radar, you act on the rudder trim to get the correct heading and with the help of the elevation of the bomsight you try to get the submarine on the vertical line of the cross and to follow it by decreasing the elevation, open the bombbay, drop the bombs when the submarine is in the middle of the cross, don't forget it is moving. When you get it , it is pure fun. I use NG-HUD, PAL HUD config and PAL-visualmod9.
Dear Epervier,
thank you for your advice. Sometimes I noticed that in spite of the "stabilize the plane" on, the altitude decreases. Does that mean that the power of the engines not strong enough is?
Best regards.

Merci Epervier pour ce modèle très manquant. Toutes ces bombes ! Wow!

If 4.12 users would test this patch and give some feed back: http://www.mediafire.com/file/zyrimud9kum72z7/Short_Stirling_Sight+fix.7z

Thank you so much CWatson. I always appreciate your work. So feedback:

... 412.2 SAS 5,3           basic                       /            ...and   heavy with mods ...

Sight v1; all works fine until changing the ANGLE; picture of sight does not follow vertical angle change
and aiming thus remain at 0 degree. Camera turns towards upper area in the black not accompanied by the sight.
MINIMAL and FULL 412 5.3 tested.   Scenery should move, sight moves instead.

MINIMAL        Click on image for zoom in access.

ZERO degree ANGLE.

SEVEN degree ANGLE.

I suspect angle change is moving sight picture instead of background image.

What a great plane to have at last!

Many thanks to all responsible. I am afraid that I must report I also have the same problem as Huberranz with the bombsight. (I am flying in BAT).

I am always rather worried by cockpits that are a direct copy of another plane. I find it a bit damaging to the all-important immersion. I like to have a few small differences so I have messed about with the textures of the Stirling cockpit to produce something  a bit less like the B-17 and a bit closer to the monochrome effect of RAF bomber cockpits. I emphasise that I have not changed anything other than some of the colours.

Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/55pah8cedfyb4e1/Stirling.rar

This goes in 3do/cockpit/  Don't forget to save the old folder in case you don't like the new one.

This patch adds a working bombsight for 412 users. Sight is based on the B-10's, thanks to the testing by Hubberranz:
