Can't unzip Sealion downloaded files with Installer
« on: August 12, 2018, 12:44:21 PM »

I can't figure out the correct procedure to install sealion using the installer.
It brings up a box with a whole line of different icons to click on, but I can't find a manual on it to help me learn how it works
I used 7zip before and that worked ... even with that after a year I forget..
any step by step would be helpful...

Well it may be Pure BS to you but it is a "no work" to me...I finely got The crossroads to download and install by turning off my Avast & Malwearbites, but this
sealion won't work the same way for me...
I am very sorry that I don't understand this computer stuff as well as you...But I don't. ;D

When you open the installer you should see this:

Is this what you have on screen?

No!  It is an open box like folder that has several icons along the top with a variety of different names.
One name was Extract another was a wizard & others I can"t remember right now...

Ahhh ha..  I finely got that window to 0pen to the flle that you just showed me...But when I tagged it to my il2 folder it opened a window that showed all 4 of my downloaded folders to be corrupted and so it just aborted my install...

Oh well...I will just re-try downloading again...

Just for the record.
The Installation instructions for BAT Sealion say:
Quote
Put the *.ZIPs and EXE into any folder and run the installer.
Point to your BAT Install and wait for the Installer to complete the task.

When it says "run the installer" then this means "run the installer" and not "double-click on anything that isn't out of the way in three seconds".
That's not rocket science and it doesn't have to do with computing in the first place either.
If that's not common sense to you, then I don't want to see how you put on your trousers.

Only thing I admit is that while we thought that the part "Put the *.ZIPs and EXE into any folder" was foolproof, enough fools appeared to prove us wrong long time ago, by putting their files into any folder literally, anywhere all across their computer, in places they couldn't remember a second later.
So please let me ask you to internally translate that part into
Quote
Put the *.ZIPs and EXE into the same folder anywhere on your PC and remember where you've put them, [...]

Just saying to prevent the next accident... ]banghead[

]cheers[
