Mission Failure to Load
« on: August 11, 2018, 02:49:31 PM »

Gentlemen,

I've come across an issue I've never had before; the game will crash when missions reach 100%. I had the BAT installed before back in May before the new update from Steam messed me up (accidental uninstall). I've read through the logfile and it reads that I'm missing certain meshes and textures for ships. Most likely a user error due to the manual install but I also had another issue of not having permission for certain parts of the BAT, to which I manually installed them anyway. Do these issues correlate? Furthermore, what part of the logfile do you need for a diagnosis? Any help will be much appreciated.

From your post,
Steam updater might break your modded game ..... is it right ?

If so .... recovering on current game folder without reinstalling is almost impossible.

It still let me opt to use the older 4.12.2m. So I did and I based my entire download from that specific patch as instructed.

Most important is the status of the game folder.
That is Healthy ? or Broken ?
4.12.2m display doesn't mean It's healthy status as correctly modded.

When 4.13.4m version number is shown, so it means clearly broken for 4.12.2m based B.A.T. , though.

In the first place, modding under Steam controlled folder is danger with such accidental updating -- game broken.

You are trying to repair a broken installation of uncertain status and uncertain file integrity.... I guess you know the (unpleasant) answer for the "best course of action". Sorry.

And move Il-2 away from steam or windows folders if you want to mod it.
