P-47 Bell/Alarm?
« on: June 13, 2018, 08:26:23 PM »

Flying the P-47, I've noticed that sometimes a bell goes off. What is this for? Is it to wake you up if you pull to many G's?

It looks like AN/APS-13 (family of RAF's Monica) Tail warning radar's notice bell .... an enemy fighter chasing your tail.

I did not fly P-47 for years. But I remember that I heard that alarm only during manoeuvring and considered it to be either stall or high G warning... I could be wrong.
