Payload Parser
« on: May 28, 2018, 08:42:55 AM »

Hi folks,

On the IL-2 Great Battles Mission Editor you have a "Plane Settings" Dialog, e.g. for plane lists on airfields, where weapon mods and payloads are to be addressed by their ID number.
Unfortunately no one tells you which IDs exist and which of them can be used in conjunction with each other.
The latest information about this being available is in the IL-2 Mission Editor Manual, but it's from IL-2 version 2.012d, and we're at 3.003 meanwhile, with lots more planes and different options.

Therefore we've created a tool to parse this information straight from the game's files.
What you need:
  • The GTP Archive Extractor for IL-2 Great Battles:
    https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58547.0.html
Using this tool you have to extract the file "Scripts.gtp" from IL-2's "data" folder to a folder of your choice.
  • This tool.
Put the exe file into the subfolder "Scripts\luascripts\worldobjects\planes" of your extracted Scripts.gtp archive folder and run it there.
This will create a new file "Payloads.txt" in that folder.
This "Payloads.txt" file holds all weapon mod and payload declarations of all your planes.

Whenever a new plane is added to IL-2 or a new version updates the existing plane's weapons, please don't forget to extract "Scripts.gtp" again and run this tool to get an up-to-date list of payload IDs and weapon mods for your Mission Editor works.
