Every time I start a mission in qmb, the game puts me in the air already when I want to spawn on the ground so I can take off. I can't remember how to do this though. I heard something about putting the mission to scramble so that the game puts you on the runway, which it does but I'm still flying when I spawn. Is there a fix?

How about your Quick Mission -- Difficulty setting ?

You may find "Difficulty" button under QMB main screen, and after entering it, open "Misc" section ~~~ see "Takeoff & Landing" entry.
When No Red light there, Mission Takeoff & Landing function is disabled. Click the lever icon to enable.
