Official thoughts about 3.001 issues
« on: April 06, 2018, 06:24:40 AM »

Quote
Thankfully, 3.001 release went ok and didn't require any urgent critical hotfixes, which is strange for such fundamental changes, to be honest.

IMHO that's bold.
Dedicated Servers have been fucked up all over the place.
Lots of users can't access the game at all anymore.
Others can access the game, but cannot play certain maps anymore.
Difficulty Settings are thrown overboard.
Loadout restrictions aren't working.
Stuttering.

And then that statement.

I've been the first to reply in the discussion thread and my reply was that this was a tad too optimistic in my point of view.
Guess what, my reply was immediately sanitized.
So I repeat it here in plain language: That official statement is a clear sign of ignorance.

Cheers!

Kibaszott lófasz!  ]iamwithstupid[
- some career missions are obviously bugged;
- objects in front of clouds visually disintegrate, far-away planes in front of clouds literally disappear, now it's a game for Schönwetterjäger only;
- several graphic glitches, considerable performance drops (also reported for high-end PCs),
just to name a few from the perspective of an SP gamer.

"didn't require any urgent critical hotfixes" -- let me translate: "ask me if I care", or "those who give it a fuck are over there"  :P

Edit: Strange, the first time I read your post here I could still find and read your post there. Now I can't. Has it been removed or WTF??

now it's a game for Schönwetterjäger only
Indeed.
On our FAC test server we've had to resort to clear skies as well, for the graphical glitches and the newly introduced massive performance impact that comes with any type of clouds.
There's so many massive issues, it's hard to tell which one is the most critical.
Either case, saying that there are no critical issues to be solved, and stating that this came as a surprise, well that's... unbelievable.

Thanks for the upvote by the way ;)
But guess what: Even that second post of mine was sanitized, although it was just stating positive things (irony, sure, but still...)

Cheers!

Ah well, so what I had the opportunity to read was your second post. And both were 'sanitized'. Perhaps you broke the forum rules? Disrespect for the Mother Queen, or what?
Now I feel assured that I have to vote for the Hungarian Double-Tail Dog Party at the upcoming elections, period.

Disrespect for the Mother Queen, yes that might cut it.
Violation of Forum Rules is rather unlikely when I look at my profile:

Actually I don't want to show disrespect to the creators of IL-2 Great Battles, the Forum Moderators over there or anyone else involved.
I have the deepest respect for what they've created. Period.
Any other respect doesn't come naturally, it's something I give for something others deserved.
In that regard, the mess they've created with the 3.001 update doesn't quite earn my respect.
The slap in the face of all users who are facing massive issues since then, by saying "3.001 release went ok and didn't require any urgent critical hotfixes" surely doesn't.

Cheers!

My toughts exactly. This was my second major disappointment with BoX (the first was Bodenplatte, but that decision could be justified as financially reasonable).
I'm pretty sure that not your first post either was against any declared rules, so sanitizing it was nothing else than oppressing legimitate opinion coming from a benevolent customer. All the more so as DerScheriff's post has gotten 20 upvotes till now I'm writing. The problem is real and is felt by many. 'It is useless to deny, because it's impossible to conceal.'

My first post was the first reply in the thread altogether, and it was just a quote of the same sentence I've quoted in the opening post here, and my comment was (I try to repeat it literally from memory):
"I'm afraid this is a tad too optimistic, nevertheless nice Dev Update."

But I'm not mad at them. It's their house, their rules.
If they like to have positive feedback only, so be it.
I'm too old to fight at foreign places to foreign rules, I've got better ways to waste my energy.

Cheers!

Personally I think they are about to loose sight of their own goals. They run when they should learn to crawl. They are using politics in order to spend time on Bodenplatte. In my opinion their run to get money sounds a bit concerning
And I truly believe for most people this was a successful update. But they will in turn after a while discover that is was not. Well this game has gone a  path I will not follow for a long while.

My thread was closed (or so it seems). Wrong questions, still valid answers, problems discussed, all gone. No problem  :P
