Long Time, No Fly
« on: March 06, 2018, 09:01:57 AM »

Hi there

I played Il-2 a lot 'back in the day' and I've recently rediscovered the joy of it, plus this quite stupendous array of Mods! It's amazing what the game has become. Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard and long to make this experience. I have everything installed and running smoothly thanks to the very clear and concise directions.

I've stuck my toe into new waters with the Dawn of Flight, WW1 package and before I get into it I'd like to ask for some clarifications from the community if I may?

After reading the documentation and searching up some older threads, I'd like to ask the following about rotary engines:

1. Magneto Settings. Are these consistent across aircraft types? I believe that 1~33% power, 2~66% power and 1+2=100% power for the Eindecker. Would the same be true of the Camel for example?

2. Engine Overheat. Is this setting supposed to be off in DOF? I've read in some older threads that it is, but I couldn't find anything about it in the BAT book for DOF, just Engine Torque and Gyro Effects off, Flutter Effect off, No Instant Success off.

With regards to point number two, if the overheating is supposed to be on, can an experienced WW1 stick toss a newbie some advice about how to control engine temps?

Thanks for your time :)
