METRIC AND IMPERIAL UNITS.
« on: March 06, 2018, 04:28:20 AM »

This has probably been asked before but some time ago I guess if it has because I went back quite a few pages on the various blogs to find it and was unsuccessful.
The question is, is there a simple way to get IL2 1946 to provide the height in feet rather than in metres. Im a bit old fashioned as you will no doubt see from my avtar, and can relate better to feet rather than metres, which at the time of these air battles depicted, was generally feet for English (and Commonwealth Allies) and Americans but Axis (German Italian etc) comprising mainly Europeans used Metres. I seem to recall it could be selected in the likes of forgotten battles through the game but cant find it anywhere.

There is a command (Display/hide speed bar) to toggle the information in meters/feet/etc...
Also acts for km/h - TAS - knots - etc...

Another interesting command to avoid "labels" next to the aircraft in external view - to make screens: Show/hide icons

So, assign the key functions of "Toggle Speed Bar" in your Control setting screen before flying.

Exactly like that.
It lets you switch between:

km/h     KIAS     mph
m          ft          ft

...and off

Nice one guys. Its good to have good ol'  feet and inches once again and miles per hour. I kknow its been with us a long time but I still cant get a feel for these metric units. I can visualise 2 lbs of apples, but 3 kilo or whatever, pfffftt just call me old fashioned. ;-) :-)
