I'm glad you are active !

What I have no idea is how many polygons each LOD must have ...
I will continue using those that are in the modeling bible. :-[

That's a ..... necessity felt by each modelers .....

The modeling bible was written based on PC power of 2006 year (perhaps).
Current PC can handle more rich polygon models easily. Only about LOD0 , twice polys maybe OK (exactly proper far LOD models with low polys are still needed).

Final decision is how seen in the game. How about own External view / Chase view (5 ~ 30m) ? How about formation planes left or right from cockpit view or external view (90 ~ 150m side by side, 180 ~ 300m to the third plane) ? Enemy 200 ~ 500 ~ 1000m ?

LOD0 distance is also not static as 100m.
Freely decrease-able / increase-able like 50m or 80m or 120m or .....
When we hope the most beautiful model for nearest own External view / Chase view , most rich polys for 30m LOD0 and next 100m as LOD1 ---- possible.

Even no animation static 3d model for missile / pylon, my choice of LOD / distance samples are here.

I don't use those distance thresholds for ALL my models.
For different object type / different shape, I choose different distance thresholds for each own.

A very cool Aircraft you decided to make. It's having a
unique history that stands a bit out and makes it ideal
for our purposes. I'm not into Jets, but this is one of a few
that got my attraction.
Following your progress with interrest.
Best wishes
