Odd blocky rings with rendering distance
« on: March 03, 2018, 03:40:55 AM »

At certain distances during missions, there are these strange blocky rings across the terrain that are vaguely brighter in color than their surroundings.

- I downloaded the BATDLLS files after I downloaded Checkpoint Charlie and Operation Sealion. Could this cause graphics problems?
- I extracted the BATDLLSs into the main IL-2 1946 folder.
- Everything else works; it's just the annoying rings.

The set of
- screenshots showing the problems
- full conf.ini
- full error log of the mission you see the problem
- JSGME enabled mods list
will help us what occurs in your games.

I have another IL2 4.12 heavily modded who work without issues.
I tried using the same config.ini but I can't solve the BAT's problem

Change HardwareShaders=0 to 1 in the [OpenGL] section of your conf.ini.
Not related to your problem but I'd also change Water=2 to 3 and Effects=2 to 1 (for better fps).

I apologize for the necro, but I have another problem...

I change the HardwareShaders to 1 and save the conf file, but whenever I start the game, the blocky rings are still there. I quit the game and open the conf file to find that it's reverted itself back to 0. What do I do?

- Change the setting
- Save the file
- Right click on the file and select "Properties"
- Check the "Read Only' box
- Hit "Apply"

...that'll fix it.

You need a dedicated graphics card for Hardwareshaders=1. It will not work with integrated graphics.
