Hi, I am not sure I understand the instructions in Component Parts for setting the window resolution. In the samples it appears that you put // in front of your original settings for width and height (1366,768 in my case) then 1440 and 900 underneath, but just above that it shows
[window]
width=1440 - whatever yours is 
height=900 - whatever yours is
Am I supposed to subtract 1440-1366=74 and 900-768=132 and place those values for width and height or am I overthinking this?

When your monitor's native resolution is 1366 x 768 and you want to set IL-2 1946 resolution equal as Full screen mode, write ....
width=1366
height=768


My PC has Full HD (1920 x 1080) monitor and I set them width=1920 , height=1080 for Full screen mode.
