All National anthems Work in progress...Help Me
« on: January 14, 2018, 05:17:31 AM »

Goodmorning everyone.
As the title I'm working on the implementation by now quite a while, of all or almost, the National Hymns of the various states contained in Forgotten Countries.
I had a few questions to ask you about this, there are some things like I did not come back clear,
1) the state of Costa Verde where it is located as typing on the internet brings me back to a famous coast of Sardinia "https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Costa_Verde_(Italia)", or even worse I make a list of real hotels with this name scattered around the world ...
I would not want Costa Verde to refer to the State of Cape Verde in Africa ...
2) All audio files for now correspond correctly to their nations, except in one case, and it concerns Austria ...
Here I have introduced two different Hymns, one concerning the period of the Second World Conflict, the other is the one still used today in Austri. But I did not understand why, changing the two types of Nation, the hymn remains the same, while in other cases of duplication of Nations it does not happen to me.
If you can give me some advice to deal with these problems.

I hope you have the more applicable older version of the south africa anthem, known as 'die stem' rather than the modern 'n'kosi sikelele' which did not exist at the time of these conflicts(at least not as an anthem).
if not, let me know. i'm sure i can find a decent copy for you. :)

Malone, then for South Africa, I entered the version if I'm not mistaken of the English anthem for the period of the Second World War, after which there should be the current anthem of South Africa.

in order:
SA. South Africa
God Save the Queen
SS. South Africa (Postwar)
God Save the Queen
SB South Africa (Republic)
Nkosi Sikelel 'iAfrika

I know that surely I will have some mess with the hymns, but believe me it's not easy ... At one point my neurons had been in conflict. ;D

However, when I release the package I will put it in the WIP, as I am sure that many changes will have to be made.
As soon as I have some time I will load it because frankly I can not do it alone.

Why do you assume that Austria blue is WWII?

As I have it in Modact for 4.12 its modern (1955-today) or "First Republic" Austria 1936–1938
sharing the same Roundel. What is missing is the Emblem of Heimwehr Flying Corps (see below).

As the hymns at this time Austria had this one from 1920-1929 (at least officially)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsch%C3%B6sterreich,_du_herrliches_Land
and this one from 1929 to 1938:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sei_gesegnet_ohne_Ende.
using the old Kaiser-Hymns melody by Haydn:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gott_erhalte_Franz_den_Kaiser.

Since March 1938 there was no Austria anymore until May of 1945.
As hymn the "Ostmark" (Austria as part of the Reich) shared the German hymn,
the "Deutschlandlied" (wich is also the old Austria-Habsburgs Kaiser-Hymn
melody by Joseph Haydn) but the first stanza only,
followed by the SA song "Horst-Wessel-Lied".

The Roundel as Austria has it nowadays was the same as used from
1936-1938, before there was the "Heimwehr Flying Corps" using another
Roundel as seen here:
http://www.insigniamag.com/heim.html
the emblem as we have it in FC now was introduced in 1936, history see here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_Air_Force#History and there
click"Austrian Air Force (1927–1938)".
Maybe someone will make this missing roundel of the Heimwehr FC some day?

And yes, there should be different hymns, one with the modern Austrian hymn
and one at least with Haydns Kaiser-Hymn melody.

Gerax thank you for the help, in fact I drew much of the information from wikipedia.
But there are many noticeable differences from the English to the Italian Wiki version,
"and I fight with English ..."  :(
Then see the English Wikipedia pages where they show a myriad of reading data to be reduced to just two lines with the Italian version ... it's really depressing.  :(

However, the fact that I have associated the part of Austria-Blue to the Axis has been dictated by a historical logic I believe ... "maybe I made a crap, but in good faith ...",
that is both Austria and Germany, they fought a World War side by side, except for the Second World Conflict, where there was the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany with unorthodox methods, and facts from the 1938 to 1945 Austria had to "undergo and adopt" also the flag of the Third Reich.

Now I'm loading the RAR file on Mediafire hoping for a faster connection speed ...
Unfortunately in my area the connection is powered by a hamster running in his beautiful wheel ...
;D :D

Well, after about a couple of hours and a half, I managed to load the rar file

Stefano, first of all: many thanks for your work with all this!  :)

Please do not take anything I write below as a critic,
just let me clarify a few things as I understand it.

To assign the German hymn for Austria blue (code: AQ) is wrong for this reason:
In World War two Austria didn't exist. it was erased from the maps.
It was part of Germany and named "Ostmark".
The name Österreich (Austria) didn't exist anymore and was wiped out
even on the maps. ie Niederösterreich (lower Austria, one of the nine states in Austria, where some
of my ancestors were and are from) was named: Niederdonau (lower Danube). See here.

This means: when someone does a mission/campaign for an "Austrian" pilot
fighting in WWII (ie Walter Nowotny etc) then this missions has to go into
DE (German) folder in missions/campaing folders. With stock DE hymn, emblems,
ranks, awards, flag as you use it for "German" pilots of WWII.  ;)

Austria blue (AQ) is just the duplicate of Austria red (code: AT) wich has the modern
Austria hymn and Emblem. And so should have Austria blue..

But: we could use at least the emblem of AT, AQ for the Austria Luftwaffe wich
existed from 1936-1938 a it shares the same emblem with modern Austria.
But then the hymn should be different, should be the old Haydn "Kaiser" tune
but with a different text.

This was the Austrian hymn from 1929 to 1938.

Be aware that its the same Haydn tune the German used and use, but with another text !!!  ;)

Gerax, I thank you for the criticism and corrections you are giving me;)

Returning to the post:
So if I have not misunderstood the version of the Austrian Anthem, in both cases must be and remain the same version?
Or what you posted is only about the part of Austria Blue? And so it must be changed? with the correct version
"Sei gesegnet ohne Ende - Kernstock Hymne - Version 2?
Gerax, in my brain lately, houses the monkey of Homer Simpson  ;D  ]thumbsup[

Ah another thing but this blessed "GREEN COAST" that is reported in the forgotten countries to which country, place, country or city refers?
As I already wrote in the previous post I can not understand which GREEN COAST it is. I know that in Sardinia, I think there is in Brazil and Spain if I'm not mistaken, but precisely they are coastal places.
Now my doubt remains and pervades me, perhaps "COSTA VERDE" wants to be more precisely "CAPE VERDE?" the Insular State?  ]banghead[
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Verde

Gerax and all of you I apologize for the delay with which I answered, plus I must also use a translator of English ... I am one of the few in the world that does not speak ... as the last of the Mohicans  :D  ]notworthy[

Hi Stefano, Thank you very much for the enormity of the work you have done up here 8), now I can listen to Mazurek during the flight.  :)

@ Hi SAS ~ Gerax
I was looking for  "Heimwehr Flying Corps" insignia on the internet, but I could not find anything.
Is there a website where can I find them?

Regards,
Piotrek

Only pic I found you can see when you click the link in my reply #3 under:

before there was the "Heimwehr Flying Corps

And thats the only description available it seems:

Its emblem was a red-white-red flag, with a white eagle on a green circle at its centre.

But we do not know if there were any roundels etc on the wings
(when there was anything at all) ?

So if I have not misunderstood the version of the Austrian Anthem, in both cases must be and remain the same version?

When you see Austria blue just as a copy of Austria red as I do: yes.
But maybe I am wrong with this, so if anyone knows better, please post your thoughts!
I think this "duplicate" thing was done in this way for mission makers, so they can set
modern Austria as red or blue, just as they need it in their missions.

Or what you posted is only about the part of Austria Blue?

I do not think that it was the intention of the maker(s) of this mod to have
Austria red or blue as the Austrian Luftwaffe 1936-38. He/they wanted to make
it the modern Austria Air Force. That this period 1936-38 shares the same
emblem is just a nice accident. And so we optionally can use the same AT red or blue
for this period also, but when you do so, then you have to do with the correct Hymn.
And thats the Kornstock hymn.  :)

When you want to use this two Ausria red and blue one as modern and
one as 1936-38 Air Force you will run into the problem that you can use only
one hmyn for both if I understood this correctly.  :-X

I can't see how this would make sense.

We have no slot for this country, we do not have good knowledge
about this Heimwehr Flying Corps History, Emblems etc and finally:
do we have any planes they used?:
BFW Messerschmitt M 23b, Hopfner HS 8/29, Fiat AS 1
(https://forum.axishistory.com//viewtopic.php?t=137371)

But when someone wants to make this and/or
find out more about all this: good luck.   ;D
