A6M2-K Kamakazi
« on: August 18, 2017, 06:41:16 PM »

When CzechTexan asked about Japanese trainer planes used for kamakazi's it made me think of the A6M2-K so I made this....

Credits:
Teno10 for the A6M2-K
SAS~Sani for the original idea and class work
Stefan SG for updated classfile work on the original
SAS~Bombsaway for combining all work, making new classfiles and slot.

I made this in my BAT install so I know it works with 4.12.

The way it works is make a mission and make the last waypoint a ground attack and set the height at 100 meters. I found that if you have at least four ships and set each flight to attack one ship each, they will but once the ship is hit and sinking the others will drop their bombs and leave. Chickens!  :))

ah, there it is!  I replied in the Lounge before looking here.
Thanks for this amazing little aircraft!  I just learned today that trainer planes were used as kamikazes toward the end of the Okinawa battle...And now here is one already! Now that's fast!  Thank you, Bombsaway!  8)

Thanks very much Bombs.
Just tried it in an Okinawa mission, flying as an IJN observer - the AI performance was outstanding - looks really authentic. From 3 flights of four aircraft, 3 hits were scored on USS Franklin (AA set to 2-veteran, and Hull durability cranked way up), left her blazing and exploding just like that terrible day back in 45.
What an excellent mod. Thanks again!

Interesting addition Mark, thank you very much, really appreciated. 8)

Working fine in my install ModAct 5.30, not so sure I want to try it out myself on a actual mission though I will leave for the AI pilots.  :D

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Thanks Pete. I add them as AI to many diferent missions in QMB. I made a scramble mission and take a 16 flight against carriers along with several of these.
