Yak-7UTI & Yak-7v ~ School is in!
« on: August 26, 2009, 06:10:03 PM »

This is another mod from Avia that came to me by hook and crook. I spent hours on Avia looking for updates and trying to download stuff, to no avail, and spent half a day inserting pilots until I stumbled across an update on another site that had it is already. You know, the stuff that makes your day fucking completely.

The mods are by Lefty, Ranwers and a lot of guys from Aviaskins.
The Yak7UTI had only the front cockpit (at least the version I could get my hands on does), and did not have it's own FM.
The 7v on the other hand did, but it was a bit of a racecar. Neither of them had opening canopies.
They were in desperate need for combination. The 7v has fixed langing gear, no guns, no gunsights. The UTI has a practice gun and sight, and raised gear.

I gave them both external opening canopies, and the UTI now shares the V's cockpits, Front and back but has the Gunsight in front as well. Both ...or rather, all 4 cockpits had their POV tweaked a little bit. New Masks for the UTI site, new Reticle. Both have newer external Fm's now. All I changed from the original was I added a lot of weight, added some length, and increased the stall speed. They are more of a handfull now.

The pilot in the picture above was my own. I ended up using the upgraded one rather, which was a bit of a better 3d model. But mine's meshes are still there, as well as it's disabled .him entry, for those who like snooping and fiddling.

They dont have inner cockpit opening canopies yet. Maybe another modder can tackle that....I might know a few :D The classfiles need a bit of AHS attention too for getting rid of windscreen artifacts from the rear seat.

There is a text docky in the plane's folder in the download with the lines to add. If you only want one or the other, disable or remove one from your air.ini, and if you like you can remove it's file from 3do/plane/... as well.
This does not require new buttons.

Now, skinners, do your thing! I have nooo templates, but I am sure someone does. I am sure now that I have been around the fucking mood with this mod, EVERYONE will know where to get the latest versions and updates. :P

I would like a mission where a German ace fighter squad stumbles across Moscow Flying School's formation practice day...

S! To all who worked on this and hid it from me. ;)

Perhaps this plane (and Tiger moth and Po2) could be flied by two joysticks , joined to the same computer, eh? There was a solution to this possibility suggested by somebody on AAA. ;)

Thanks CirX

Do you plan to make the plane a training plane with two seats ?
At last with a seat for instructor no necessarily two cockpits with commands.

It would be a very great and innovative mod !!  :o
