Brown B-2 Racer 'Miss Los Angeles'

Brown B-2 Racer
Air Racer

The Brown B-2 Racer was an American-built small monoplane racing aircraft built in 1934 by the Brown Aircraft Co. of Montebello, California, which had been founded by Lawrence W. Brown, previously of Clover Field, Santa Monica, California.

The aircraft, dubbed "Miss Los Angeles" was designed for competitive flying. The low-winged monoplane was designed with a minimal cross-section to reduce drag. It had an open single-person cockpit and a fixed tail-skid undercarriage like its predecessor, the B-1.

I've started work on this bird as the data loss of my 3ds MAX files left me devastated (HA PUNS[get it? Because I was working on the Devastator??]) and I really didn't want to spend so much time on another aircraft as I had with the P-21J as well as the Rans S9 Chaos, so I decided to start with something a little more simple, yet, elegant. I found this beauty's plans on an RC website and thought to myself, hey,
that'll look pretty good in IL-2. 8) And work has started on it; just tonight I finished refining the drawings and 3 views needed to build the model, so hopefully tomorrow or in the next... 16-18 hours, we can have some screenies perhaps!

Stay tuned you Golden Age Racer fans!

Watch out, 4K render! Though, not fancy effects like bump and AO maps and such, but hey, something for proof of work.

Once I've got my work sorted out at work (ayy lmao puns) I'll be focusing on getting her into game the way she is, so at least, I get further than the Devastator did.

PS these are, BY FAR, THE BEST, WHEELS I HAVE EVER MADE IN 3DS MAX. I'ma slap em onto all the aircrafts I can.
PPS - I suck at doing pro renders.

Beautiful, such a elegant looking machine as were many of that time in aviation history. 8)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

SO MUCH LOVE! <3

I just moved my PC back to the house and it's back home for good! (For now..) But yeah, might not have so much time to work on it with my new job, but I'll do my best. 8)

Glad y'all are liking it so far.  :-*

Ello~ Glad to see you're keen on her being in IL-2.  8)

Progress? None so far sadly... Well, the Java class is about as far as I got since the screenshots and I'm still yet to import her into IL-2 though I will probably require Storebror's help for the engine and physics and rest when the time comes.

I'll try to see if I can at least import her into IL-2 today, but no promises.. :-X And I promise this won't be one of those teasers with no pleasers; it WILL be released when finished or at least even in Beta.

Hope that helps satisfy the suspense.  :)
